@uscdream19 Congrats on the acceptance my friend
@ASHtoUSC congrats
@somuchsuspense19 congrats
Lord bring me the peace of Sunday, because there’s no mail. Amen.
Ugh, but seriously Sunday is my only day of peace. How fitting. Just little ‘I’m-certain-I’m-getting-rejected’ things.
@juliamay2020 I wrote the instructions I was mailed on the previous page for my SGR.
Ugh guys, this is exhausting. I’m so tired
@mellyjune I feel you. My heart is growing wearier by the minute.
I think my only solace (if you could even call it that) at this point is that USPS packages sit at Canadian customs for like a week, meaning I’ll most likely be notified of my decision through the portal first.
Don’t know if I’m happy about that??
@mellyjune @usc2563 I just had the “it might be over” with my conversation earlier… ugh this is devastating
@millaportman There was a boatload of psychology graduates at graduation! I think they outnumbered every other major in the satellite ceremony group that I was in. Of course, my major was the smallest, but the psych people were really noticeable given how many of them there were. However, I don’t think any major at USC is necessarily “impacted” compared to schools like UCLA that are incredibly strict because they simply don’t have space. I think it would be quite impossible for somebody with a GPA in the under 3.0 range to get in at UCLA for such majors (or even any major), but that’s definitely happened at USC
Someones comment about them still releasing most of the decisions next week made me feel better until I realized that most people receive rejection letters… AHH HELP
@zettasyntax I had no idea! I knew UCLA was impacted, but I didn’t realize that there were a ton of psychology majors at USC as well. Good to know. I actually have a 3.91 GPA, but unfortunately, I didn’t know that I should’ve been attending school full-time, nor could I afford to, so between part-time status and an embarrassing amount of W’s, my chance of being accepted isn’t even realistic. I wish my academic counselor had told me about what specific traits that they want in applicants. She just stressed GPA and GEs. I wish I had known because then I wouldn’t have wasted the admissions counselor’s time, or applied for the Norman Topping Scholarship which I put a lot of time and effort into. I suppose there’s always the opportunity for graduate school once they see that I can prove my ability to them.
I did explain my Ws. I had legitimate reasons for them, but I honestly don’t think it will matter given my part-time status. I’m so disappointed.
I’m clearly not here to judge anyone’s academic performance and I understand that some people have a hard time with classes and whatever I do end up saying is going to sound rude and judgmental. But I know of someone who has straight C’s with the occasional B and no upward trend in grades or anything that also applied and they haven’t heard back and I’m like what does this mean…
What does it all mean… (It means I’m literally taking anything as a sign I’m going to be rejected.)
Hey guys! The package was an acceptance letter! I’ll post my stats on the page
@arteest1 congrats!
I kinda wish that USC had a same day release for all decisions, but I understand it makes the workload for the counselors way different (especially the workload after with appeals and working with accepted students and such) siiiiigh…
@arteest1 Congrats! What wonderful news!
ACCEPTED to Viterbi Computer Science. Got the package today. GPA 3.8. Transferring from UCSD. Good luck to everyone else.
ACCEPTED to Annenberg!!!
Oh my gosh, is this the first Viterbi acceptance?
