any viterbi cs applicant who has not heard back?
Marshall applicant still waiting, do you guys know if they send SGRs towards the very end ?
Does anyone know around how many ppl get SGR’s? Like a certain percentage of applicants? And does anyone know around how many (or percentage of) ppl who get SGR end up getting in?
I’m one of those 2.9 gpa guys who’s still waiting to hear from USC. I’m a polisci major with low stats but it’s on an Upward Trend. I got in at UCSD and UCI although I was first waitlisted. USC invited to apply for the NTSAF scholarship and I just submittted it on Sunday night. I got generous financial aid from both UCs, so even if I get accepted at USC I would still need to compare he finances, but obviously I want to be at USC. Is it possible that we might hear something before June 1st??? I’m just hoping that USC is using the scholarship as a sort of filter, and that my admission is based on me applying for the scholarship. That would be unlikely but It would be great but idk.
@wiizard give it a week or two
Is there a chance that I’ll get SGR towards the very end since my school ends in June 10th and my final grades will be available by June 20th?
@Roxy22 that is a possibility but it would have to be by June 1st if USC were to send one. I’ve heard mixed things about SGRs. Some people get them, some don’t. I had over 100 quarter units from a university , a 3.9 GPA, all pre reqs done and submitted, most GE’s completed, and still got an SGR! Also, you may just receive a final decision by June 1st without SGR! Good luck!
To those who have gotten SGRs, does it show up as physical mail in addition to updating on the portal? Also CA residents, did it show up in mail first before updating in portal?
can rising sophomores get rejected w/out even getting a SGR? if so, how common is it?
@Skepta yes. First you will receive an update on youUSC. After you will receive an identical physical copy via mail (a week or less, depending on where you live).
@greenpotatoe yeah they can, usually happens if there’s something definitive on their application that makes them a poor applicant (bad GPA, missing requirements, no GEs, etc)
Still haven’t heard anything back… I’ve accepted my rejection at this point. But what could I have done wrong? I completed all GEs and have a 4.0 GPA and I pretty much did everything there was to do
I submitted my spring grades last Thursday and my portal has them listed under received documents, but the “required documents for upload” page still has the option to submit them. Should I call admissions and make sure they have everything, or is this no big deal?
I just got an email from financial aid. Would my response time effect my decision? The info I have to find I would take a while to get together.
@ashurikko samee lol 4.00 transferable gpa, for me, 6/8 GEs done writing req done, and all major reqs done by this spring. I don’t know what else I can do.
@Skepta you could get those 2/8 ge’s done I have a good feeling they’re just sending it all at once since we haven’t heard of any big waves recently. did you sign up for informed delivery from usps already?
@InTheNightSky95 the faster you submit your material the faster you can get your response (the financial aid is a separate department so it wouldn’t directly affect your admissions) if how much aid you get affects whether or not you’ll attend USC it’ll be behoove of you to get it done asap
@ashurikko @Skepta Same. Do you guys have backups?
@VLGian How do you sign up for informed delivery?
@CUBUSC you can download the usps app on your phone or you can go to usps.com
from there you put in your information (name, address, etc)
then there should be a button (on the app) or a link(on the website) that says “informed delivery” you just need to select yes and afterwards you’ll receive emails everyday when you are going to get mail from usps
[the majority of us are using this to find out whether or not we are getting packages from usc]
