@VLGian oh yeah, that’s what I meant (admissions decision). If it’s not gonna throw off the timeline of my decision then I don’t have to panic too much I guess. I had to pull teeth to get my parents info for the CSS thing, so this will be no different :-<
@InTheNightSky95 keep in mind that you’ll likely get worse financial aid (from the school) the longer you wait so try to get it done at your earliest convenience
Hi everyone! I’ve been lurking on this forum for quite a while now, but I got an email that my financial aid updated this morning. I checked my portal and I was accepted into Annenberg!!
@VLGian Ah yeah, I know, haha. I don’t mean to sound like I’m relaxed about it lol I just know my dad, so I know it will take much longer to get him to cooperate with me than it really needs to :(.
@student3940 Congrats! Hopefully you’re the start of a wave of acceptances [the rest of us are dying]
would you mind posting some stats on the transfer page? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/1978775-usc-fall-2017-transfer-students-stats-decisions-only-p5.html
It would be helpfully to let other students know what USC could possibly be looking for (it’ll also make students with similar stats feel better)
Although I must say, it would suck to have to dig through all this info and get rejected anyway lolol
Do people who get admitted into their spring term get notified late? I wish I could just call admissions and get an update I hate waiting
@jae2017 lol I applied to Wharton at upenn but was very understandably rejected LOL. SInce this is my first year at a cc I didn’t have enough units to apply to the UCs, so it’s USC or bust for me right now,
@InTheNightSky95 you’ve heard back from them though! so I would say you are in a very good position. There is absolutely no chance they would ask about your finances if they weren’t planning on accepting you. [it seems like the finance department withholds their evaluation until after you receive your acceptance typically]
@VLGian I hope that’s the case. fingers crossed
Where is the first place we hear for rejections, the portal or by mail?
@brixnx I believe it’s on the portal, looking at last year’s thread.
Everyone seemed to post their rejections and acceptances in unison.
@brixnx I found out on my portal around midnight when I was rejected. A physical letter did eventually follow like 3 weeks later, so you’d likely find out on the portal first before you ever receive a physical letter. I don’t live that far from USC, so I figure they’d just rather dish out the rejection on the portal.
@zettasyntax I’m surprised they feel the need to send a physical rejection letter after rejecting them over portal (wouldn’t an email rejection be easier?) feels like its kind of rubbing salt in their wounds
@Prince111111 Lol fellow UCSD freshman here applying to Viterbi CS! And same I didn’t get formal email/message for my SGR either so I guess we shall just wait for the physically mailed explanation!
I’ve also applied to Viterbi CS. I have a slight feeling I’ll be accepted to my 2nd major (Astrophysics). While I gave my reasoning as to why I’d like to pursue a CS curriculum, my interests as shown on my commonapp almost entirely revolve around physics and astronomy. Viterbi or not, being accepted is all I’m rooting for :))
@AGoodFloridian Have your received an SGR? And good luck either way haha!
@InfiniteHH98 My college sent them my Spring Grades before they had the luxury of asking for them >;D mwhahaha!
I’d like to have the band aid ripped off on June 1st, thank you very much.
@zettasyntax did receive an email that your portal was updated or did you just randomly check your portal and saw that you were rejected?
“Im pretty sure all if not almost all, accepted admissions decisions, have been sent out.
However, you never know if your letter is just under the pile. Good luck!” saw this on the USC 2017 transfer admit page,… and there goes my last sliver of hope, (assuming its true).
