@Skepta I guarantee with my life that’s false lol
Is it true that USC admits more students than the spaces available? Cause so far I know 8 people who were accpted to both USC and UCLA but will attend UCLA. My point is that many people who get admitted won’t go. So I guess USC waits to see how many people will commit.
Received a SGR, I am on the Trojan Transfer Plan, want to know if there is any hope for me still? Almost all TTP’s have heard back so far…
There was a huge upward trend from my high school GPA(2.8) to a 3.7 at CC. Also I applied for Marshall.
@Skepta You know, usually my mind at this point is attracted to anything negative but that is a huge assumption to make, and unless it was confirmed by admissions (lol) then I’d question the credibility on that.
I’m perfectly open to supporting evidence though
@Roxy22 Most colleges do that because they know that not every admitted student attends. They look at their yield history and make educated predictions[the process is much more involved than I’m letting on] on how many students they can accept and how many will accept the spot.
this might be stupid question, but do they actually use the transferable gpa instead of overall gpa for admissions decisions? I ask this because on the transfer info page, it says the purpose of calculating USC-transferable gpa is to add onto the the gpa achieved by students once they are at USC, so once they graduate their overall gpa is cumulative of their usc transferable gpa + gpa earned at USC once admitted. So does this mean for actual admissions just overall gpa is looked at?
@katienewsom24 I’m in the same situation – I sent in my spring grades last week through the portal but it still says they need my transcript under “required documents for upload”. I’m going to give it one more day and then contact admissions.
unrelated but damn this mask off remix with kendrick is insane.
did anyone here sign up for orientation on july 14th?
Still nothing :-S
uh same. I can’t even final right now
@ashurikko don’t lose hope. my buddy received his acceptance on june 1st 2 years ago.
@JaytotheB Thank you, that makes me feel a bit better and hopeful
is the acceptance rate generally higher for ppl that get SGR compared to everyone who applies?
@penntousc was ur hs gpa and test scores very high? just wondering cuz they admitted you before seeing 30 units of work, wanna know if hs gpa still played a factor or not.
USPS notification: receiving a package this Thursday from Los Angeles, CA 90052. Dornsife applicant.
@Skepta no, I had a 2.7 GPA and 1700 on the SAT. I think it just had to do with the fact that I had calc done in the fall, multiple GE’s done and more in progress (7 total), the writing (half done, half in progress), and the diversity requirement done, with a 4.0… I think what got me in with under 30 units was the communication I had with my counselor at USC, I’d been talking with her from April of last year up until the time of my application, and then a little before I receive my acceptance
@zettasyntax Thanks! I just wanted to see if I could because I still haven’t gotten my financial aid from USC. :-SS
oh my god i got a package notification for my ASC study guide and i nearly freaked LMFAO
@penntousc wow haha my hs gpa was 2.7 as well and SAT was 1740. I kinda knew that my goal was to transfer since junior year, so the first time I emailed my counselor was July of 2015. Then some back and forth the past year and this year. lol I feel like our applications were very similar cuz ur ECs/job experiences, if I remember correctly were similar to mine, only thing is I applied as Econ and am taking calc this quarter instead of taking it last fall.
