@dnymrel Yes you have to be accepted. And they only care about HS grades if you have less than 30 units.
Ayy it’s lit for Annenberg applicants this evening , congrats guys!!
I’m a econ major with 3.5 gpa(upward trend with straight A on midterm grade report, but I failed a language class once in my first term, retook with a P), and I only have one GE left, be honest, do you think my chances are super thin? @Skepta
@Chasexm I’m an Econ major as well so let’s hope they squeeze us both in, (it is after all one of the most popular majors at USC). You’re gpa is lower than the admitted average, however here’s people in this very thread getting accepted with gpas lower than 3.7. Grade trends are also pretty important so your looking good there. Regarding the Lang class, I don’t think retaking was as bad as taking it for p/np if I’m being honest. I only say this because they don’t like students taking taking classes p/np (says so on the transfer brochure). Having only one GE Is good tho, but I believe for transfers you gotta take 2 of em at Usc. Also make sure you know ur usc transferrable gpa, like calculated only from grades in USC transferable courses. Plus ur essay for usc matters more compared to the UCs .Iv noticed the essay actually plays a relatively important role even in the transfer application. Transferring to the UCs is mostly a stats game, so thats really good news for some or really bad for others.
Well this weekend has been another wave, the transfer admit page suddenly increased by around 200 members.
Everyday I tell myself, “Oh my package notification will be here tomorrow” and then tomorrow comes and nothing. My friends in the same area have had their acceptances for a week and one of them is in the same school (Viterbi) and the anticipation is killing me. If I don’t get my package by June 1st may I rest in peace.
thank you @Skepta I thought it’s a language course won’t affect me as much since I’m a international student, and I took a toefl exam as well.
Anyway… I know someone with 3.7 got into econ just few days ago, so I think you’ll get in for sure
if they send me a SGR my newest gpa would be 3.7… I just hope they don’t reject me first
Yep, nothing. - Annenberg applicant (comm)
hi guys i was asked for my spring grades but actually received my acceptance yesterday (was dated the 24th though). (dornsife btw!!) anyone know how long it takes to receive a financial aid package after acceptance? thanks and good luck to everyone!
@zettasyntax about the online physical science+lab, I’m taking mine online rn and since it’s just a GE class will it reflect poorly or just not be considered? I’m taking all online classes this quarter
No sleep tonight, just constantly refreshing my YouSC page…
@PleaseUSC 2am, right?
It refreshes 2 am California time right? Because that’s 5 am for me…
for anyone who’s second choice is to go to a UC, did you guys sir already jic or are you guys waiting? I want to make sure I get housing and classes. Also which UC would you be going to? I thought I had a pretty good chance but I got rejected from UCLA and I thought they had similar competitiveness to USC
@Chasexm You never know, but definitely 12am-2am most likely. Might not even show up tonight, possibly tomorrow night around the same time…
oh god, I hope I’ll get a SGR
i sent my grades last week after receiving an sgr and my application status still says:
“We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing. We hope to receive the grades before June 30. We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.” i emailed them and they said the upload version was fine (which is what i did in case in addition to mailing it and sending it electronically) and i called them to ask if it was processed.
does anyone have this issue? what does the status change to usually? if you are accepted is there middle status saying that they are reviewing it? im just worried. how was the turnaround for other people?
so if usps mail came this morning, I shouldn’t be expecting a package from anywhere else? They told me my decision was sent out may 25th
@suitelifecollege It took about a week after I submitted my spring grades for that status to go away. Now it says, “We have received your Common Application and USC Supplement, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of May, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify transfers by June 1st. Sometimes, in the course of our review of applications, we find that we need additional information. In such cases we will email a request. If you receive a request for more information, please respond promptly.”
So no one has received a rejection letter yet?
