Seems as if were probably going to find out next week, which is mid July. This wait has been ridiculous
@MakeItHappenUSC i received my decision on june 27 and financial aid info july 1
does anyone know when accepted students find out about which credits transfer or not? thanks in advance
Still waiting for an SGR. Called housing and they said there was a 100 person wait for housing on campus. What is everyone doing for housing?
@mkj120 I’d recommend going to the Lorenzo because it’s probably the easiest and most convenient option at this point… the 100 person wait is probably accurate because I’ve been waiting weeks for reassignment lol
@penntousc Hey, how long from putting in your housing application did it take for you to get assigned and where did you get assigned if you don’t mind me asking?
@imkenny what was your major and counselor?
@MakeItHappenUSC originally I put my app in on 5/11, was assigned on 5/26, got Parkside and got reassignment on 5/30 to Century, and applied for reassignment again about 2 weeks later because of my roommate situation
@penntousc How much is it typically? I can’t afford $1000/month like most offers. I was banking on on-campus housing to cover me. Would financial aid help with off-campus housing?
I just don’t know how everyone else is affording it. Then again, I unfortunately come from a very low income family with a single parent, so I’m kind of on my own in terms of finances. I’d hate to be accepted only to have to give up an amazing opportunity because I can’t afford it…
@mkj120 it’s about 1k/month, but I think that’s a pretty good price considering the amenities and the other places in the area. The only people paying less for off campus housing are the ones that are sharing houses with a bunch of their friends in order to drive the price down. I’d recommend trying to get in touch with financial aid to see if they’ll help you figure that out, but I know PLUS Loans only cover up to the cost of attendance, yet the cost of attendance only applies to those living on campus, so there’s gotta be a way to work around that.
@penntousc If I’m awarded fin aid, I’m hoping it’ll include costs for housing on campus since I applied as an on-campus residence. Perhaps I could use that to afford rent while I wait for housing to open up. Thank you though, I’ll definitely be giving financial aid a ring soon.
@pantafootball2 Marshall School of Business and Marcel Hite as my counselor
@imkenny thank you! Will you be posting your stats soon?
I totally just remembered this website and checking the 2016-2017 thread constantly last year! I was in the same position as a lot of you (accepted to Dornsife) and had to wait until mid-July so do not lose hope I know how frustrating it is but USC is totally worth the wait!
@jare_beaer Out of curiosity, were you admitted for Fall or Spring?
I emailed my counselor last week to check if they received my spring grades and he replied saying that I should hear back by the end of this week or early next week. Good luck everyone!! The wait’s almost over!
So I called Housing and apparently there is still space left and they are still currently making assignments. So don’t lose hope for those who haven’t been admitted yet!
Hey has anyone who appealed heard back yet? Also, has anyone gotten an e-mail back from Bruce? Or knows a better way to contact him besides e-mails?
Has anyone been accepted from the philosophy department yet?
@TrojanTransfer89 I contacted him 2 weeks ago, he replied 3 days later with only one word “thanks”
