@baseballlover21 Yeah, tbh I’m pretty salty about it if that’s the reason my admission was rejected. How were you able to meet with her?
It took about 2 weeks for me to get a response on my appeal and it came from an e-mail that wasn’t my counselor’s. The portal should reflect like the next day.
ADMS80.epsx@sis-cal1.usc.edu = the e-mail sender with the appeal decision
@pantafootball2 No, I actually completed it in fall 2016. I expected a SGR because I was a part time student my 3rd and 4th semester (just finished up my 6th semester this year) and expected them to need proof that I had been a full time student for the past year.
@zettasyntax
After one year at USC, what are your thoughts on their housing? I’m not sure if you’ve previously stated whether or not if you’ve lived on or off campus, but maybe do you have any input on housing as far as you know? I’ve recently submitted my housing app and applied for USC Village. Thoughts on that? Did I make a bad choice?
My other options were Webb Tower, Cardinal & Gold, and Cardinal Gardens. But I heard the Village was new so I applied for that.
Btw, Thanks for all your input and contribution to the thread!
Hey has anybody successfully transferred in USC as a film production major or any of the game design majors? Need to pick somebodies brain about the requirements.
@oso766 I went in the day she happened to be working the front desk. What did you portal change to and how was your appeal given? my portal looks the exact same and its been 5 days
@baseballlover21 Oh okay and if rejected, the portal will stay the same and the decision on the appeal will be given to you as an e-mail IF you are rejected … I can’t confirm that’s the same if your appeal is successful. Also of note was how in my received documents section the “letter of appeal” or “appeal decision” something along those lines was added after my appeal decision was e-mailed to me.
@squirtlesquirtle Hey, I didn’t really get to experience on-campus housing, so I’m not the best person to ask about this. It’s not that I didn’t want to live on-campus, I was just a spring admit and was assigned temporary housing so that was a no go for me I have however heard a lot of good things about Webb Tower! I would have gladly accepted a spot there. I’m sure the Village is going to be amazing, so you didn’t make a bad choice there. However, I think it’s going to be rather unlikely to get a spot there. There was a girl in my class that was applying for some job that would have guaranteed her a spot - that’s how crowded it is. This was back in March/April, so I would say the Village is pretty much 100% full. I was actually surprised to hear that somebody on here managed to get a spot in the Village. Perhaps a student backed out and they wound up with the spot? Anyway, you never know with housing though, so maybe
Although I wouldn’t have my hopes entirely set on there; transfers always get the shortest straw when it comes to housing sadly. But I certainly think things are getting better
@oso766 maybe you can try asking your counselor if being part time student for some time was the reason for the rejection… I know that full time status is important for USC.
Admissions posted on insta that they’ll be out of office until Wednesday, so I’m guessing that most of us won’t hear until next week
@katienewsom24 Yeah that is what i’ve been saying for the last few weeks. I haven’t even checked my portal at this point because I expected this.
Tbh, next week is suppose to be the final week that they send out admissions results. Since they have waited until the last week to inform me, I anticipate the worst. Really isn’t that big of a deal to me. I would love to get accepted but it isn’t going to crush me if I don’t.
@tankle104 I know people who got accepted last year in the middle of July, so don’t give up yet. And yeah, I’m kind of in the same boat. I love this school so much, but if I don’t get in I probably won’t appeal, I don’t think I have anything compelling enough to say. If they don’t think I’m a good fit after applying for the second time, then it’s just really not meant to be.
@katienewsom24 same. I’m honestly close
To graduating from the current private school I go to anyways. I just wanted to transfer so I can pick up an economics/finance program that USC offers as a second major. So realistically it isn’t gonna change much for me if I don’t get in. I could always just go there for graduate school lol
Honestly though, too many people on here have put too much of themselves into getting accepted into USC. The school you go to doesn’t define you, it helps get your career started and can offer great experiences/network but a lot of schools can do that. Everyone’s going to be just fine. There is always graduate school, and remember that there are quite a few better schools than USC. So you can kill the rest of your undergrad and then try to go to like harvard or yale for grad school. You never know. Harness your decline letter of acceptance into positive energy to make try even harder where ever you go
So im guessing the people who haven’t heard back yet will probably be rejected? :((
In the threads from past years there were many admits in the last week, so we’ll see. I called and they said I’d get a response in the first week of July, but with them being out for half a week that sounds like a joke more than anything
@pantafootball2 I am a full time student now, but agreed, I know that USC really wants to see that
If history means anything, there will be a wave of acceptances (likely only spring though) by the end of next week. Good luck to those that are still waiting!
For those of you still waiting this week may be it for you (or next week). My counselor a while back said decisions would be coming out around this week. When I checked my USPS portal thing I guess he wasn’t lying when I saw a package from USC that is still in their shipping facility.
Good luck to those who are waiting. Just take your mind off of it and go into it with an open mind.
@imkenny when did you receive the notification
@pantafootball2 USPS said that they got it July 3rd if that helps
For anyone that got accepted much earlier, how long did it take for your Financial Aid info to update and how long did it take for you to get a housing assignment after putting the application in? Thanks.
