When you guys call admissions to ask about your application, what number do you call?
Just called admissions. The guy was super vague. I told him that I submitted my spring grades a while back and wanted to make sure that they have everything, and he said “Yes your spring grades have been received.” Then I asked when I might hear back, and he said “All the decisions will be made by the middle of July, but since all your stuff is in, you may hear back sooner.” Again, super vague and I’m not sure what to make of it. It kinda sounded like they hadn’t made a decision, but who knows. Just for reference, I was SGR’d on May 10th and submitted my spring grades on May 19th.
@oso766 oh wow that is surprising were you rejected after a spring grade request ? Or was it during the normal decision time. Can you also post what the counselor responds since I did check and your math class does transfer over.
Im starting to lose hope. It looks like the people who are being accepted are notified within 2 weeks of submitting their spring grades. I haven’t been able to exhale since I got the SGR.
@pantafootball2 I was rejected during the normal decision time which surprised me because I expected a SGR. Yeah sure… I responded to her e-mail on Monday and haven’t received a response yet, so I think I’ll give her until after the holiday weekend to respond before I send her another e-mail.
@zettasyntax do you know how much aid I can expect if I appeal due to substantial income reduction (50% reduction)?
@oso766 wow that is extremely weird and frustrating. I actually met with her on Tuesday
Anyone who filed an appeal, how long did it take for a response from your counselor, and if given inperson, how long did that take to have your usc portal change again or just know it was received?
hey guys, did anyone make a groupchat for accepted members?
@katienewsom24 I’m glad to know that you got SGR’d that early but still waiting for response… cuz I’m in the same situation. Got SGR’d 17th, submitted my spring grades on 23. Hope we can get our response asap!
@oso766 were you completing the math requirement during spring ?
how will I be notified of my financial aid appeal decision?
has anybody heard back this week? the wait is killing me
@greenpotatoe It’s difficult to say. USC seems to be very generous with their university grant and any additional aid will likely be added to that. However, it would mainly be for tuition-related costs like I mentioned. If I recall correctly, I think I just got an email about my financial aid appeal being denied. Of course, if it’s approved, you’ll probably get an email to check your financial aid summary because it changed. So either way, you should find out by email.
I would easily pay $1000 for an expedited decision at this point…
looks like we will find out next week…
@dogsAREsocool199 I think it’ll be the week after. Next week is Fourth of July, so I’m not expecting people to be working in the admissions office. I could be wrong but at this point the final week is what makes sense anyways lol
Why would you waste a year trying to apply to USC. Move on and get the degree from the colleges you got into.
should we lose hope of getting in if we are waiting 3+ weeks after sending in our SGRs?
do you guys think BU is really bad? If I can’t get into USC, I’ll have to go to BU
