2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

Actually Tuesday.

does what’s written in the appeal have to be an external factor? also, is the appeal explaining why my application wasn’t good enough? I’m not sure what kind of tone to have and how to phrase things.

@csumit When you got your SGR online how long did it take for it to come in the mail?

@anotherday9 online the 18th, mail the 24th

@juststeph an appeal should have significant accomplishments or achievements that occurred since submitting your app, or something you feel you didn’t express about yourself that you feel they should know and could impact their decision.

I was accepted yesterday through the portal and got my package this afternoon! It’s yellow! Totally didn’t expect that haha

What are my chances?

I AM EXCITED! :stuck_out_tongue:

is anyone having problems with setting up a USC NetID? I’m entering my 10-digit USC ID number and my birthdate and it says that my ID and birthdate do not match their records. im highkey freaking out lol

As of May 4, I got Spring grades request. Since I didn’t attend 2018 spring, I emailed my advisor, Elliot Shavalian, and he removed the request!!
In this situation, I haven’t heard back yet.

I thought sgr is for checking my last semester grades and if it is good enough, they pick me. isn’t it?

is there anyone in the same boat??

If we submit our spring grades before June 1st, will we get a decision earlier?

@mavsp1 mine did the same thing! Its because you were just accepted and they need to update their system. No biggie, mine took a day and a half

@juststeph I wrote one last year for freshman class. You need to write about WHY USC wants you and what you would accomplish with a degree from there and going there. In my application I wrote about HOW going to SC is a stepping stone for my future and why I deserve to go there and what I have done to prepare for it (intern, job, sports, community service). Try and sound different. If you need help I can send you some of my stuff just let me know

can anyone find June 1st is the deadline to commit in your admission letter?

Hey guys, I recently received a SGR for viterbi CSBA. I am kind of scared because I dropped a course (which isn’t a requirement) during the beginning of the semester (so I didn’t get a W). I dropped the course because it was a night course and I was (still am) dealing with a medical issue. I am assuming they want to see my physics grade because that is a requirement. I would appreciate it if you guys tell me your thoughts/experiences

@OmaNebr Damn, you were another one I was rooting for :frowning: Sorry to hear that it was bad news.

@Elena1355 You’d almost definitely hear before mid-July, but no guarantee you’d hear by June 1st. Although, I’ve been amazed at how fast some people are hearing back after submitting spring grades. I personally had to wait around 2 weeks when I got an SGR a few years back.

@zettasyntax sorry to keep bugging ya but what’s the longest it’s taken for some to hear back after an sgr?

@“D.Rodri” not really a good idea to do chance me posts here since no one really knows exactly how the USC admissions office accepts/rejects applicants. Try posting on the Chance me thread instead.

@csumit I want to say a month and a half? Several people in previous stats threads have heard back July 15th or so. Assuming their spring semesters ended early June (maybe mid-June for some UC transfers), I’d say around a month and a half. This would of course exclude the time before they had the opportunity to submit spring grades. Say they were SGR’d May 15th, but didn’t get a decision until July 15th. That would be like 2 months of actual wait time. It’s crazy to think about. USC seems to be moving fast (possibly a little too fast) with some people this year. At least some people are likely to hear back mid-July.

@zettasyntax i got an sgr on the 18th and got my grades processed the same day. Reallllllyyy hoping for this week

@csumit And you’re a TTP applicant too right? I would certainly think/hope you don’t have to deal with an incredibly long wait, but you never know with USC. I don’t see how some people can hear back within the same week and others have to wait a month. The randomness puzzles me quite a bit.
