Is 3.3 with Bs and As a safe spring quarter grade to prevent any chances of being rescinded? Was admitted with a 3.345 cumulative, but 3.85 winter quarter. Taking 3 upper div classes spring quarter so grades not as high as winter quarter.
@srgtpepper well I hope everything works out for you!! FIGHT ON!!
Hey guys. Have any SCA applicants gotten in? I’ve still got no word from them.
Anyone applied to price, and if so, what were your stats? Still waiting for my grades so i can submit them for my SGR.
@zettasyntax I wanted to update you on the called ransfer applicant Dornsife. Called admissions just now regarding my situation. Said I could hear between now and early July. Sent transcripts on May 7th heard nothing since then.
Feeling extremely defeated also because I’m from OOS and would require housing. Called housing and said the chances of being on campus are highly unlikely. This limbo that is being an SGR is absolutely agonizing… ;(
So, the lady I talked to on the phone was incredibly helpful and nice. She basically told me however that they can’t tell me my final decision even though I have another college waiting and that I could either commit and take the offer and if USC accepts me I could lose the money or I could defer USC (lol never). For anyone on here you CANNOT defer a full year at USC, only up to one semester… What does this mean I’m so frustrated waiting and I don’t know what to do next. Also good luck finding housing on campus bc it probably wont happen. Anyone possibly need a roommate in LA across the street from USC? Or does anyone have links to apartments across from USC? I need some serious help!
You’d think that they wouldn’t have housing issues now that they built the whole village… must have been terrible before, if they still have issues.
@Tuttwirl I didn’t really think they would just give you your decision over the phone. I was hoping maybe they would just make a note of the fact that you’re waiting on another college and possibly expedite your decision because of that
Also, I wonder what the housing problem is. I find it hard to believe that there’s somehow less housing with the Village being around. Heck, even as a spring admit I was offered housing on-campus (albeit “temporary” housing). Spring admits are supposed to have it the worst when it comes to housing. I really don’t believe that there’s no housing left for transfers.
The housing was terrible before. And while the Village provided more housing you have to consider that prior to the Village most students moved off campus after freshman year. Now they are flooding to the Village. My two pre-village had no interest in dorm living as sophomores and rented outside apartments near campus. But rising sophomore is in Village. And sophomores are guaranteed housing. So they offered more supply but also got way more demand to offset it.
My transcript was processed almost immediately on the portal. I don’t think it necessarily means anything.
@zettasyntax Why not let Tuttwirl live in your room lol
@scarletred official or unofficial transcript?
So my last two posts were a little emotional as I was writing right after receiving no comforting news. My apologies. After cooling off and returning to CC I believe that there somewhere is housing for us who applied late/haven’t done the housing application yet. They never tell you that you can apply during the spring semester before admitted…
I am sure that somewhere there is housing on campus for us transfers. However, Being from OOS, can any fellow LA natives tell someone like me where not to look for housing off campus? Any streets/buildings that are okay for newbies? Wanting to secure options!
I’ll notify CC if I do end getting a final decision faster due to calling admission, but I highly doubt it. My counselor is Samuel Williams and I was notified that he was gone until Monday as well. I wonder if decisions from his region will still go out tomorrow or Friday?
@scarletred Nothing has processed for me, which is why it means something.
@Tuttwirl Personally, I don’t think that we’ll hear till he’s back.
@Vincent1997 you think? What college/region are you from? I go to a public university in Arizona. Hopefully we get a decision tomorrow or on Friday
but I do have a feeling that we will not here till he gets back as well!
I am from Orange Coast College, which is literally 30 minutes (or 3 hours if traffic is bad :P) from USC.
@MysteryO My unofficial. I don’t think my official has gotten through the mail just yet.
@Vincent1997 If it’s been awhile have you considered calling the admissions office? Mistakes happen
@scarletred I think my counselor is the only one looking at the file. Since he isn’t here, I don’t expect anything to happen. Once he’s back i’ll see if I can get a hold of him.
Not sure where people got the idea their counselor has to be around for a decision.
I just got housing at the village!
