2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@CADREAMIN True. I’m looking into the lorenzo and some other housing options just in case.
The one up I would say for UCLA is the guaranteed on-campus housing for transfers. Not sure about UCB but I’ve heard that a few transfers this year have been able to get on-campus housing w/a single bed.

Does anyone have any recommendations for off-campus housing? I’m looking at reviews and not a lot of them are great in terms of management and the leasing contract

Ya, not many private schools take as many transfers as USC does, frankly, it has been a source of contention with some folks. It use to be debated on here often. I don’t think there will ever be a transfer housing guarantee, USC students feel lucky to have sophomore year guaranteed now!

But also, a lot of students don’t want to spend more than a year confined to a twin xl and the rules of a dorm. So even with a guarantee, many college students crave independent living. My first two were so done with a dorm after a year.

@armadaswim I also just got Troy Hall 1B3P… I wonder :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s the end of the day and I have still heard nothing from the School of Cinematic Arts. I assume that means my non-priority mail rejection letter is on its way in the mail :/. I’m grateful to have gotten into the school, but I gave up amazing programs at other schools and went to a CC for a year just to get into the SCA through TTP. Oh well, nothing’s promised.

@anna717 I’m not on FB. I went on Craig’s list and this other site called Uscoffcampushousing dot com. I figured the writing was on the wall and I would end up with three people like many on here are posting and I wasn’t having it. I need my space. I need my privacy and I need not to be smelling anyone’s middle of the night farts! I also need to be able to drop a deuce in privacy! I’ll be a block from campus in my own room with private bath and use the campus gym and dining facilities along with other amenities to still feel connected to the campus without all the rules. I’m not paying them $55 to ultimately decline. Cuz I know I would lol.

If we live off campus do we still have access to the gyms at USC?

@sunnydramatic are u coming from OOS? If so it’s great u got housing if u can live with sharing a room with two other people. I know I can’t so paying a few hundred more is worth the peace of mind. I’m eager to join campus life and looking forward to learning the chants etc but when I want to be alone I want to be alone lol.

@goodBrujo9 I totally agree with you! I need my privacy and its cheaper off campus! So we can still use USC’s gyms and facilities living off campus? lol oops, I already paid that but I guess I’ll get but I am going to start looking off campus

can someone explain what’s happening with my housing? my friends at usc said that my housing options on my applications are mainly freshman dorms except cale and irani and cardinal gardens. for example, my housing app has birkrant, fluor, marks, pardee, new/north. is this because the other housing are closed or is there something wrong with my application? i contacted housing but still waiting to hear back.

I called admissions today and they said that although our admissions counselor doesn’t make the ultimate decision on his own, he does start the process on his own. In other words, if you submitted your spring grades, you will have to wait until that counselor gets to look at it, before he then passes your file along.

So for those of us, who have Samuel Williams, will have to wait until June 4 before our file even gets looked at.

Will class availability be the same for me even if I pick a later orientation date?

If you look at the USC twitter you’ll see that all of the admissions staff is out of the office until Monday for a conference, so I don’t think any of us with a SGR will be hearing anything until then.

Hey guys, does: “CDP (See department): Elective units are granted. See USC department offering a similar course for possible equivalence” mean that I will receive credit; however, have to retake the class in order to fulfill my business core? This is for accounting.

I was told that people with SGRs may have to wait until July 1st to get their decision

Has anyone gotten a credit evaluation yet, and if so where did you look for it?

He/she doesn’t have to be there to see your file. It’s all online. They are still working when they are doing the road shows. And starting the process is long before the SGR.

@rgehr123 is your gpa in the range they wanted? I’m not throwing in the towel for TTPs yet. What an odd year this has been, because in the past TTPs heard very close to regular decisions. You are one of several I still know waiting. Some have very high stats.

So hopefully we see updates for a bunch still on limbo after midnight or in the morning between 10:30am to noon which are their usual “spin the portal” times.

If you still have grades to report through SGR yes, it can be a long wait. Several hear in July, ugh.

does anybody know if marshall students have a language requirement, and if we do, how many semester do we have to take? i just know a third level language is not required.
