Hey guys I got a SGR last month and submitted an unofficial pdf of my spring grades via portal AND I also sent an electronic official transcript today. It shows that they received them but the request for my spring grades and required documents still show a SGR. Isn’t that supposed to go away once they receive my grades?
@heyguys6767
Did you got a SGR?
@scarletred I think lots of people simply don’t post on the stats thread. Personally, I will post there, but I just haven’t received my decision.
Anti-climactic = June 1st. Wow dullsville. Feel terrible for you that are still waiting to hear. Obviously there wasn’t any wave of anything today.
@scarletred You have very good questions, please contact you advisor on Monday about the summer class question and ask if they have an idea of timeframe on your decision.
Are there TTPs still waiting??? Ugh Ugh Ugh. @csumit Anything?
Hey guys I got a SGR can someone calculate my chances?
Stats:
Currently 4.0 GPA at a CC
Essays: I think it was pretty solid will they recheck my essays?
Spring Grades: I’m doing two pre-reqs right now Calc and Writing. I’m really worried because I will likely get a C in my Calc and that will drop my GPA to a 3.7. All my other classes are in track of getting an A including my writing pre-req (almost guaranteed). What are my chances??? Help will be appreciated. I’m applying to Marshall, legacy status (don’t know if that helps) without TTP however.
@applesoup do everything in your power to get a b in calc
@applesoup yeah, I agree with @jjcc77 that the calc grade is important.
@angeleno13 Yea I’m a spring admit! Your YouSC page will change again after you pay the deposit and they process it. A new link to register for orientation will pop up at the top
@CADREAMIN still waiting…
I’ve seen somewhere on this thread that USC consider A- as A. is that true? if so, do they recalculate ur GPA?
Monday a city of industry, CA package is supposed to arrive at my address. OOS student. Is that possibly USC? Slightly freaking out if so…
Hey, guys, I got an SGR and was wondering what you think my chances are
Major: Political Science
GPA 4.0
Spring Semester
Political Theory:A
Sociology:A
Religious Studies: A
Geography: A
Jazz Theory: A
I am also a part of the honors society and play on my school’s golf team.
@cdub98 no way for anyone to tell. It’s great you got high grades obviously but there’s been people rejected with a 4.0 spring session before
Do any of you know how the transfer credit works for Marshall? In regards to business core courses like accounting and econ.
Has anyone gotten in after getting an SGR?
@Vincent1997 I believe if you have taken macro/micro econ and/or financial/managerial accounting at a different cc or university that the credit hours still count, but it is required that you take micro and macro econ at USC and an abridged accounting class there as well
I know it sucks to post after a rejection, but it would be helpful to know if any TTPs are rejected and with what gpa. TTPs have always been as close to a sure thing as you can be - granted you hit the gpa and take the right classes (or close to them) but I am perplexed about any TTPs that are still waiting on news. If you would rather PM me that is ok too, I would keep your name out of, I am just really curious if TTPs aren’t getting in this year, particularly with high stats. That would really undermine the program.
I would be sending an email when they are back in the office letting them know you are TTP and if they have idea of when you will hear. If you are still in school and have SGR pending, then we know why the delay. Even then, it seems they gave TTPs way more SGRs as well. Just a weird year. :-S
And overall, remember 7,300 are getting rejected, 1500 are getting accepted. So it is no suprise there isn’t many transfer stats. Compared to some of the regulars, a lot of transfers just drop into CC to say got in/got rejected, then disappear.
For those who got a “conditional” acceptance, does the acceptance letter specify the actual 3.5 GPA requirement? I’m a junior transfer and my letter says “Please remember that your admission is contingent upon verification of official academic records, satisfactory completion of course work, and avoidance of academic and behavioral misconduct.”
@cdub98 That makes me worried about how my application will go next year. We have similar stats and are both poli sci majors. Are you going into your sophomore or junior year?
@gearsekandou Yes some letters specifically call out the 3.5
You have the generic conditional letter that is basically saying - between now and fall, don’t get arrested, be good, don’t screw up, and you can still come here as planned.
