2018 - 2019 USC Transfer

@ZZZXXXZZZ Try to give your school a fighting chance. You may be happy there. If you still want to transfer, you should carefully review the USC website and a copy of USC’s transfer guidelines -

USC has a lot of information available for potential transfers. To be considered a strong candidate you should attain a high GPA and get involved with activities you are interested in and plan to continue at USC. What major/school are you interested in?

quick update: I was asked for an SGR on May 4th, my grades werent available until june 8th and I sent it in ASAP and then USC sent me an email on the evening of june 11th saying they received it (electronically). Ive been checking my portal everyday on the submit documents and the transcript request was still there in the required documents. I just checked this morning and it now says “none” in the required documents. Will let you guys know if I receive a decision any time soon!
Just also wanted to say have patience and relax to those who have already sent in their spring grades and are waiting to hear back, we’ve been waiting for a while so just a little ways to go. I hope all of us hear some good news soon

anyone here studying abroad this fall?

So I am a bit confused, I am trying to send in my spring grades via online do I still send it to the Office of Admissions or Undergraduate Admissions? My CC doesn’t show the address for the office of admissions @sugarcane1 @CADREAMIN (sorry I’m panicking)

Print a copy and upload it via your portal or scan/photo it and send it to your advisor. That will be an unofficial copy. And frankly, they can make a decision off of that. But they also need an official copy which should come from the school. Otherwise you have to get a copy that is sealed…blah blah blah, that is very 1990, so the cc should be able to send it. Isn’t there somewhere you are able to manually enter an address? We have had to request them sent to employers and they obviously don’t have all those addresses. We just entered it manually.

Yes, I manually put it in but for some odd reason it says “PO Box not found” @CADREAMIN

@ZZZXXXZZZ Concur with @jmek15. When I read your first post about transferring, it made me sad. It is going to be a very long year for you. Then what if you focus all this time and energy into transferring, then don’t get accepted again? ugh. It is great you are committed to USC, but they aren’t committed to you. So try to get involved where you are going, make friends, be open to it being a good experience, and don’t only focus on USC. Otherwise it could be a really lonely year, and it is a shame you would give up that special time in your life for a school that you aren’t even sure you can get into. I think happiness comes across in an application and so does desperation. The former is way better. Good luck. Also there is a 19-20 thread already set up as well.

There is no PO BOX

Every school and general info for transfers says this:

Mailing address for follow-up application materials and all other types of correspondence:

USC Office of Admission
Undergraduate
University Park Campus
Los Angeles, CA 90089-0911

Office of Admission Fax Number
(213) 821-0200

Np, I get it, it’s stressful!

Thank you sooooo much I truly appreciate it @CADREAMIN

@Rickyandmorty I’m not 100% clear on your question. You can do what @CADREAMIN said via your portal if you are trying to submit grades/transcript unofficially. In addition if you are referring to submitting your OFFICIAL transcript via your cc website and want to send it electronically ( is that what you meant by online?) then the address you manually put in is etrans@usc.edu

Hey guys, long time lurker for this thread since late March. Current incoming sophomore and TTP applicant. I received an SGR in late May, and submitted my spring grades (unofficial grades manually via portal and mailed official ones electronically) about three weeks ago, but I still haven’t heard back (no new mail, portal still shows SGR pdf download but says they don’t require any new information anymore. the “upload documents” tab is blank now that I submitted unofficial grades). How much longer will I have to wait? Starting to get a bit worried, maybe they forgot about me? Applied to Viterbi.

how long does it take for usc to give us a student account after submitting a deposit?

@transferkid24 Once they confirm the deposit, your youSC portal will change and say “Congratulations, you are confirmed for [term] enrollment at USC.” You can’t miss the change in the portal. Once this happens, you should be able to register for a USC student account in 48 hours.

I-) I just want to know, man. Regardless of the decision it would be nice to hear back so I could plan accordingly…

Same, I still haven’t heard back yet and it’s been well over a month since i submitted sgr

I don’t understand these placement exams. I took the Math one a got 39/40 and that placed me in calc …but I have taken Calc 1,2, 3, Lin. Alg and Diffyq do they seriously expect me to retake all of those???

ALSO now I have to take a Chemistry placement exam…I took Chem 1A at my CCC three years ago…If I don’t do well they expect me to take it again? Seems pretty rediculous.

They only test at Calc I level. They take the test results with your transfer credit in consideration which is done by official transcripts (not self reported or unofficial). You won’t be repeating all that math.

IM CRYING!!JUST GOT IN FOR SPRING 2019.AHHHHH!!! Found out through the portal!! will post in the stats page shortly.

omggg congratss!!! did you have SGR? @GxBearrr

Hooray @GxBearrr !!!
