2018 Favorite Finds

So, let’s share our favorite finds last year. It could be anything.

Mine was Mascara. I received a sample from Ulta on my birthday and fell in love. I went and bought it immediately. Lengthens, widens…just love it! It’s new in 2018, also.

I had been using a L’oreal Tube mascara that I find through CC, which had been the best I had ever used. But this actually surpasses it and I don’t have to use one end, then the other end.

What has been your new find?

Folks have made some posts this year on this thread:

I know, but I thought it would be fun for just one the past year! Guess not.

I’m in love with these flameless candles. I like the way the candles look during the day, plus they look fantastic when lit up in the evening. Timer!

I was hesitant to order them because they are advertised as scented. I’m so glad I did. The scent is mild, and most noticeable when first opening the package. I don’t notice it now at all, after about a month’s use.

It was a small, relatively inexpensive thing to get to freshen up a hallway/alcove in the house and I feel happy every time I see them.

I think it’s a good idea @conmama - I’ll have to give it some thought later when I’m chilling at home.

I like Target beauty boxes that come out each month. They initially sell them for $7 and then a week later mark them down to $5 with free shipping. Inside they put a $3 off coupon off a $15 purchase.

I like the sample/travel sizes compared to full size items because I get to try a variety of beauty products without wasting lots of money on full size products in case I don’t like them. I have gotten two boxes so far and have been really happy with the products. They get used up and I don’t get bored with the variety that they provide.

^^ @raclut I ended up getting four of these for holiday “extra” gifts for 20-somethings. Two Novembers and two Decembers. They were a BIG hit! My girls used to do BIrchbox - and loved it - but it’s more pricey and they also found that any of the products they liked and wanted to get regular sized were often expensive. The Target boxes have stuff you can find at Target! (their favorite place!!)

I thought of something. My goddaughter got me a S’well bottle for Christmas (it’s personalized with a wrap and my name). OMG I get all the hype! The water says ICE COLD all day and even overnight - I’ve never drank water so cold!!! And I tried it with coffee to see how it would do with hot - my coffee was still warm at the end of my workday! (I’m a SLOW sipper…) I think I’m going to get a second one for coffee. Maybe with the sipper top instead of screw off??

@abasket I also got two November and 2 December beauty boxes. I only get the ones that have things my D and I would be interested in trying out. They also had one in December for men. https://www.target.com/p/target-beauty-box-153-holiday-beauty-sample-box/-/A-54284256

Not exactly a find because it’s been long known on cc, but I dearly love our Dash egg cooker bought on Amazon Prime Day.

I got a toaster oven/air fryer. I have to admit that I got a instant pot as a gift but it’s not my favorite thing. I’ve used it but not that often. This toaster oven I use all the time. With 2 people it’s nice to have a smaller oven to bake in. Today I made homemade French fries which I really like as much as the ones you get at the fast food places.

My Apple Watch is a game changer. As is my nespresso coffee maker with the double espresso pods

When I had my sons wedding, a makeup primer spray really helped my makeup stay all day.

This has changed my life. https://www.sephora.com/product/brush-crush-heated-straightening-brush-P434223

I love my Swell too, but I’ve had it for more than a year.

I usually use it just for cold water but once I went out on a cold night and had tea in it. Forgot about it in my purse. It stayed in my purse all night, sideways (didn’t leak) and I discovered it the next day. Tea was still warm! I drank it all.

That brush looks really interesting! I’d love to try it, especially on 2nd day hair.

I love my little egg cooker.

My daughter has a S’well bottle permanently attached to her hand. For her stocking I bought a sport cap so she doesn’t have to take the cap off all the time. Works well, but it doesn’t seal so don’t tip it over.

@conmama It’s especially great on second day hair. I have coarse thick hair that comes out smooth and shiny whenI use the Brush Crush. I was planning on getting a Keratin treatment and now I won’t have to. I got one for my daughter too and she loves it as much as I do.

My daughter introduced me to The Ordinary skincare products. Inexpensive and high quality; I particularly like their exfoliating and retinol products. At an average around $8 a pop, it’s fun to experiment.

I can’t decide—love the fuzzy warm chenille pullovers I got from Costco, the will T-shirts I got there and wool socks I got there. So cozy and warm at great prices. The Coobies nursing bras with no underwire is also nice—very comfy and love no underwire (I’m not nursing but it fits the more endowed better than non-nursing styles)!

Got my new Apple iPhone set up today. I didn’t think I needed one or even wanted one but gotta say I’m loving it.

I found that I like almost all the IT cosmetics products. They have good no tug eyeliners, a nice lip balm, and a very nice bronzer/blusher/highlighter palette.

I also love the foundation full coverage moisturizer.
