2019-2020 USC Transfer

@oceansquare

I don’t think Sol Price School of Public Policy sent out the admission letters yet.
I also applied to Price as a Real Estate Development major, but I have not received the letter… yet.
I’ve looked at past College Confidential USC transfer posts and most of the people who got admitted into Price had a 3.8 or higher GPA. I saw someone who got admitted with a 3.68 GPA, but that person had a TTP. I also saw someone who got a 3.4 GPA, (no TTP) but received an SGR and then got admitted (got a 4.0 in spring semester).

I am a little bit scared because I do not have a crazy high GPA, but let’s see.

@turntechgm It sums the last six month of my life up pretty well, lol. Too bad I can’t post the Let Me In College Version meme I made. :T Y’all would enjoy it!

But yes, best wishes to everyone!

Hey guys. Not sure if anyone can answer this but I keep reading over my essays that I submitted with my application (I know, bad idea) and there is one small error that I have just noticed. It is not anything egregious like a spelling or a grammar error, but there is an extra word that throws off the sentence. Is it too late to do anything about it?

Well it looks like a Viterbi got an SGR. I’m just gonna go out on a limb and say I got denied. Bye y’all lmao. #RIPmy4.0:(

@poolsideconvo78 yeah it’s too late. don’t bring it to their attention in case (for some reason, probably unlikely) they didn’t notice it lol. I mean they are reading hundreds and hundreds of essays so like who knows right? If it’s a good essay and they like you regardless I doubt they’ll reject you for one word but I don’t know how all of that works so

@poolsideconvo78 there’s no way they would reject you over one word

@DDHH2017 You got this! Hang in there - keep busy - Viterbi is always the last to send out acceptances. You’ve been fighting to long to give up now, Fight ON!

@transferusc88 well besides the minor error I felt really confident in my essays. Hoping we get an admissions decision this week for Marshall applicants. Good luck to you

Also is anyone else on their 3rd admissions counselor? My first one went on leave and then my second one is leaving the school in a few weeks, and I just received contact from my new admissions counselor last week. Really worried since it seems like communication with your counselor is somewhat important.

I need advice. Berkeley Econ or USC Marshall? Waiting for my financial aid package from USC, but I have a full ride at Cal. USC is 74k yikes

@katyamzz Did you not apply for Haas? I would say USC if the financial aid package is substantial

is there going to be a wave of acceptances this week? what is the likelihood of this happening

I’m expecting you all to get another wave of decisions sometime this week. I’m hoping to come back on here one day after work/class and see you all posting your acceptances.

I’m also hoping that I get my financial aid summary so I can commit to USC already lol.

@DDHH2017 Has viterbi sent everyone an SGR or they’ve sent out rejections as well?

@123vgabc One guy got an SGR for CS

@poolsideconvo78 I applied econ at Cal
Marshall USC

How do you guys feel about the USC admissions scandal and their reputation?

@katyamzz my daughter just finished her sophomore year at USC and it does kind of bother me that we pay all that money for her to go to school there, and there is now a bit of a stain on her college’s reputation. That said, there are many other prestigious schools wrapped up in the scandal: Georgetown, Yale, UCLA, etc. I still think having USC on the top of your resume will be a game changer.

sorry for late reply. I took 65 units and have 14 units in progress. I applied as junior transfer. I got all As except Calculus I and Marginal Accounting I got B.

@katyamzz honestly the admission scandal happens every year to many prestigious university, but it got big because it got leaked. Honestly I wouldn’t care much as the reputation won’t be affected so badly. I believe USC is still a great school and have many great factors that makes people want to attend usc
