Would it be silly to say that my business calc professor hindered my success? @sagaciousforever
@ncityusc I received my email at 9:30 ! best of luck to you still waiting
@woshua Don’t say that it was your professors fault. They won’t like that reasoning.
anyone who didn’t receive their decision around 5pm today hear back yet? it’s almost midnight
@Jiminlovee thank you ?? what are your stats if you don’t mind me asking? Not sure if I measure up for scholarship also nice to see a fellow army!
i feel bad for taking spots at so many schools.
Unfortunate i got in only for starting summer and not starting fall at Gatech. Their summer semester started really early; right after my spring semester at cc ended.
Really wish I could have had the time to tour more schools
@woshua Don’t mention about your professor.
@woshua a Chicano Studies I didn’t even need… I’m also taking Spanish 2 and Stats this spring. Should have grades next week.
@okaecollege Aww you’re welcome ??? I posted my stats on “2019-2020 USC transfer thread stats only” page! I wish you the best luck on your scholarships
ya know what, I tried my absolute hardest to take the most rigorous classes and get the highest grades as a means to appease this school not only as a high schooler but also as a college student. If my hardest isn’t enough there has to be a reason as to why I’m just not meant to be at USC. I think i’m going to skip the appeal and just stop with this school entirely, I have spent months on end wasting my energy and I need to move on once and for all. I’m sure at this time next year— or at somepoint — I’ll understand why I got rejected in the grand scheme of things. thank you for all of the people on this thread who have made this excruciating wait a little more bearable, best of luck to those of you who got in and if any of y’all come and visit SDSU feel free to give me a holler
It’s officially the first and I still didn’t receive a decision. Going to SIR to UCI right now and I guess call USC on Monday.
Do you guys know if we need to send in our SAT scores if I have less than 30 semester units by the winter quarter? Or is it by the spring quarter? If it is by the spring quarter, how would they know I have 30 semester units by the spring quarter if I didn’t tell them. I am currently a freshman that applied, but didn’t send in my SAT scores. I am from a UC that is a quarter system.
@mase31 Re housing, it is only guaranteed for freshman and sophomores (that lived there as freshman). If they were gonna guarantee any more housing to anyone, it should be to the juniors and seniors that started there as freshman. They have put in the time and money there. There is a large part of the population that thinks the transfer pool is way to large and taking too many resources, it is something Nikias put into place before he was fired, that many didn’t agree with. Why USC wants to act like a UC puzzles many. If any transfers get housing they are lucky, but it will never be guaranteed.
@elekeek Yes you’re supposed to send SAT scores if it’s less than 30 units, regardless of winter or spring. They wouldn’t know if you don’t tell them so it’s under 30. I knew I would be over 30 by the end of spring semester but I sent them anyways
Just posted my stats so for anyone who wants to see it!
I will stay here for (just not as frequent) another month or so discussing housing, credit report, and other issues.
Accepted, 3.75 GPA dornsife (Econ) sophomore transfer non ttp. I’m honestly so shocked! I didn’t have my math requirement done which I thought would for sure mean a rejection, but so grateful to be accepted!
@blueskies2day I agree that USC needs to do a better job of providing housing for currents students. But I’d have to disagree that the transfer pool is taking too many resources. There are only 40-50 transfer merit scholarships offered. TTPers are also considered transfer students. Or that the transfer pool is too large. I think the reason why USC might seem like a UC is because many CA community college students apply here! Therefore, it seems that USC might “favor” them for admissions.
My responsibility as a recent graduate of a community college is to increase the resources and support for future transfer students. And I hope my fellow cc students agree to this! Housing is just one of the resources that are overlooked. And arguably one of the most important. I received not one, not two, but five degrees in my two years at community college. And many other cc students have also received multiple degrees. USC doesn’t admit just anyone! They admit students demonstrate determination, grit, academic excellence, and other desirable personal qualities. We worked our butts off to make it to USC.
Hey guys, if I’m going to appeal, do I send the letter in via the portal or by emailing an admissions counselor
@okaecollege I really didn’t know that. I didn’t send my SAT, I got a 1320. Does that mean they based on my high school grades too because my high school GPA was not pretty good. Is that why I probably got a rejection. I had a 3.53 GPA. Should I contact my counselor or write that in an appeal?
