@blueskies2day Ohh okay then maybe it’s not that much worth it since they’re eventually gonna reduce my FA. It says “transfer merit scholarship worth one-quarter tuition”
@jiminlovee Thanks for confirming, I was seeing if it was something that might not be replaced. But that is an easy one, yes, that scholarship will simply reduce your FA by that amount. Perhaps the 1/4 are out then. With only 40, there’s not a lot posted on them obviously, but in past they have sent them all at once, so they could be done. Congratulations on that and getting accepted.
for the remaining people who haven’t hear back, easy way to take our minds off of this all is to watch the champions league final
I turned in my grades for SGR about two days ago and now the request for sgr is gone on the application checklist. Does that mean I got rejected?
I sent my unofficial transcript for spring grades to Tina Nguyen, my admission counselor yesterday morning. Heard back from USC yesterday afternoon about 9 hours after I sent my transcript. I was accepted, but only for spring semester. I have no clue what to do anymore.
@tashi25 What Major were you?
Hey btw only Dornsife was supposed to get a decision or grade request by May 31st everyone else you need to check with your school you applied to.
I got rejected from Dornsife (1st choice: psych, 2nd: cog sci) yesterday around 5:40pm via portal check. I just finished freshman year with a 3.78 GPA from private 4-year in CA and with 56 units.
Political Economy! @GotYa55
It says all transfer applicants who submitted by the February deadline will hear back by May 31, not just dornsife applicants.
I feel as though June 1st (which is today) would be the last wave of acceptances and rejections if you did not get an SGR. I applied for Dornsife and submitted my transcripts to the SGR I received, but looks like I will not hear back until mid-June.
Hey guys.
I applied to Viterbi for their CS/Business Administration
This is my first time posting. I received a SGR on the 28th.
I have a 3.79 transfer GPA with 80 units I believe. I just finished Calc 3 and Physics 2 with A’s in both.
I received a C in Java Programming 2. Do you guys think that C will be detrimental to being accepted?
Thanks.
Hopefully we do get something today, but who knows. I’m so tired of waiting.
Im sorry that some ppl havent heard back the wait was so annoying… wish u guys luck
@lunar2015 He might be able to test out of CSCI 103 and take the next course up, CSCI 104. If he’s taken up to Calc III, linear algebra/differential equations would be the last required math course. And finally, CSCI 109 is such a weird course that I doubt it has an equivalent at other schools. So he would likely have to take CSCI 103 (or 104), CSCI 109, and whatever the linear algebra course is his first semester and maintain a B average. CSCI 104 has to co-req of CSCI 170, so I would hope that maybe his discrete structures course would transfer as an equivalent. 170 is the only course in my college career that I never passed.
@jj1412 I will try emailing him. We haven’t chatted in months, so I think he’s been really busy lately. What’s your reason for an appeal? I appealed as well, but I wasn’t successful. I could look over your draft and see if you’re making the same mistakes that I believe I made.
I only mentioned an “appeals committee” because that’s what my admissions counselor told me after I sent in my appeal several years ago. He said “Thank you, I’ve forwarded your appeal to the appropriate appeals committee”. I guess he could have been lying and trying to make me feel better about my chances; giving the illusion that there was a committee that reviewed appeals.
@Antcastle Hey, I got admitted for chemical engineering with a 3.73 GPA and and only had one C as well in Calculus 2. I think you’ll be alright
@forrealletsdoit were you admitted for Fall or Spring?
i have 39 units completed and I am a sophomore with a 3.75 gpa for dornsife. got an SGR. u think ill be ok?
I got an SGR and finally got my transcript finalized this morning. I sent my transcript right away. How long before I receive a decision? I got straight As this semester so I’m hoping for good news.
@whatsup1995 I was admitted for fall as a junior!
