2019-2020 USC Transfer

@Shwchlorine Nope, the same thing happened to me and I was accepted a few days later. Don’t worry:)

Anyone still waiting? ?The waiting is even worse than a rejection.

ttp 3.9 GPA marshall applicant and rejected yesterday. I am a little pissed that I got rejected even after following all their requirements and getting the GPA minimum. I want a refund STAT

I’ve decided to decline my offer of admission because my financial aid was $0. It stings because USC was my first choice…I know I can’t justify the cost knowing that I also want to go to grad school. I considered appealing my financial aid, but even then I doubt the cost of attendance would be lower than the school I SIR’d to and I’m grateful to have even gotten admitted into my dream school.

I don’t know at this point whether or not it will help those who are still waiting but I’m sorry it’s taking so long and I hope that you guys hear back soon. Good luck to y’all, it’s been a wild ride! Sending good vibes.

@candylover132 Jeez that sounds bad. From what I’ve heard about TTP, it’s mostly guaranteed, especially if you make the requirement. The ones who did get rejected often didn’t have the right GPA or the right classes.

@jj1999 yeah have a 3.9GPA and did all the requirements

@candylover132 are you ttp and get rejected? sorry I didn’t read your previous post so I am not sure if you still get no decision or rejected.

@vegastransfer Thanks! I don’t have my USC ID and password to log into OASIS though. How did you get them?

Did you get them after you SIR to USC? I am going to commit very soon.

@sagaciousforever It should be on your financial aid portal under your name. Even I can still click on that portal and when I do, I see my old USC ID under my name.

@zettasyntax Thanks! I got my ID though (I applied for housing in April) but could not figure out my password.

Just committed to USC! Finally, I am officially a Trojan : )

@sagaciousforever Ah, I misread what you wrote. I was actually looking through my old emails the other day and saw that I was offered that temporary spot housing in early December. No idea if that’s the typical time spring admit transfers are notified of their housing assignment.

What are the chances of being moved to fall admission if I was admitted for spring? Any Ideas?

@aayt132 I got into Spring too but the chance of moving us to Fall is probably very low.

I just committed to USC for Spring 2020 but I highly doubt that I could start earlier. I am planning to take some classes at CC or do an internship during Fall 2019.

@aayt132 For some reason, it’s more likely to happen if you’re a freshmen spring admit. In my 5+ years here on the forum, I’ve actually never heard of it happening for transfers. Although, it’s probably because a lot of people do leave after getting their decision and don’t come back. I tried a lot to try and be moved, but nothing worked. I definitely handled things a bit immaturely. I mentioned this story earlier, but I first tried to contact my admissions counselor and told him my situation. I had taken so many units at CC that they were going to stop paying for my class fees. I could have taken Spanish III, but I wanted to take that at USC. I had pretty much nothing else to do, so I’d be just at home waiting for the spring semester to start. He responded very negatively and said to not email him again asking about it. I then tried emailing some random admissions officials and they said that nothing could be done about it. I tried emailing the Dornsife dean, this diversity dean that said he loves to help low income Mexicans, etc. I didn’t get any replies. I did plan to switch majors and I had been chatting with the linguistics advisor and told him if he knew how I might be able to be bumped up. He stated that simply switching to the linguistics major from sociology would not help things, so that I should contact my admissions counselor. Fed up, I got rather crazy and sent a letter to the former president (Nikias’) home in San Marino. I remember getting a response months later, but it was from the dean of Dornsife. He apologized and said that there was nothing he could do, but that I should speak with my admissions counselor, lol. So overall, yeah. I’m the poster boy of everything you should not do.

They automatically consider all spring admits for the fall, but this is done at their discretion. In your admissions package, it should say something like this. In my admit package, it even said not to contact them about it, so I was foolish to do so,

TLDR; Don’t really count on it and plan to start in the spring.

Still can’t believe I’m going to be a trojan. Congrats to everyone on being amazing (whether you got in or not)! Everything works out how it should

Honestly, I just really need to vent, and you guys are the only ones I feel will understand my situattion. This is my first post on here, but let me give you my stats:
GPA: 3.912
Units: 74
Transfering from a CA CC to somewhere
Got accepted to Marshall School of Business as a Spring Admit.
Ok, I worked my ass off for this, I truly did. I really want to go to USC, but I have one thing holding me back. My family won’t let me go. For reasons I cannot understand, I am not mature enough, and college has never been an easy topic for me to discuss. I’ve been abused about it for months, but today I am just feeling an overwhelming sensation of sadness. My heart physically hurts, and my tears won’t stop. I don’t have the support of my family to go, despite financials not being an issue. It is for reasons I hope no one else has to go through, and I discussed it in my application essays. Imagine working your ass off for this, only to be forced to not go to a college as prestigious as USC. My parents are foreign, and they don’t understand the concept of education. There is so much more to this, but I’m done wasting your time. I just feel that I am being deprived of so many opportunities. I didn’t feel the love or blessing or congratulation of my family to go to USC, and it’s very obvious they don’t want me to leave their site. I will stay home, caged and sheltered until probably getting married. I’m sorry about posting this negative comment, but I really just needed to get it out of my system.

They don’t let u go just USC or any University? I am international student. My parents are in China. They don’t want me to go USC either, since they have heard too much about USC having safety issue. Maybe like my parents, your parents just want you safe. They are paying ur tuition. That is their support and love! Try to talk to them. Maybe not USC, but college education is really important imo. UCI can be your choice. Safe and beautiful.

any non-SGR ppl who didnt receive a decision yesterday hear back yet?

hey guys i’ve been a silent reader of this forum ever since i decided to apply to usc. I’ve been admitted to Marshall for spring 2020 and i just submitted my intent to enroll, but it says that the deposit has to be made by august 1. Will i still be considered if spaces open up in the fall or do i have to make the deposit to be considered? The page says the following: We have received your intent to enroll at USC for the spring 2020 semester. This will allow us to reserve your space in the incoming class.
