2019-2020 USC Transfer

@purplediva2 Did you get in for the fall or spring? Also, did you get a 4.0 in your spring semester? I also submitted my spring grades 5 days ago but have not heard back yet. Also, did you get an email notifying you about the status update? Or did you just check the portal?

@Steamedz hi there. I did get a 4.0 the spring semester and I got in for the fall of 2019! I was sent an email that my portal has been updated.

@purplediva2 Wow! Congratulation! Are you a junior transfer or sophomore transfer?

@Steamedz I am a junior transfer! I went to UCSB my freshman year and then transferred to a cc. Now hopefully USC!

Thank you to everyone who has been posting on this forum. I have been following it for a long time and never expected to get in. Don’t give up hope!

still haven’t heard back yet (Dornsife)

@90smix Wow, I can’t believe they still haven’t given you a decision/SGR yet. They’re really playing you dirty lol

@vegastransfer - thanks for clarifying, sorry, didn’t realize there was loans involved. Totally makes sense.

Hey guys, USC asked me for an SGR back in April and my semester doesn’t end until like next week and I will screenshot my transcript and send it to them asap. I’m a rising Sophomore and for the Fall semester I got a 4.0 but for this semester I’m getting one B in a GE class. Will that affect my chances of getting in? Should I write an explanation to USC/my counselor as to why I received a B in that class? Any advice is appreciated!

@Trojan4u1001 One B is not going to ruin your chances…

@Trojan4u1001 I also got one B+ in my GE class. I admitted for Fall 2019 two days ago. I am pretty sure one B will be fine and it is not your major related requirement course. I don’t even have a 4.0 GPA!

@Trashception congrats, you now have peace and satisfaction having achieved the allusive USC acceptance. :slight_smile: Still heading to UCB now that you have all your answers? Excellent choices all around.

For all those asking about getting a B, it won’t make a difference in any regard if the rest of your app says what they want to hear. And there is no reason to explain getting a B - it would only sound like an excuse. And excuses are weak whether used in sports or academics. Owning it shows much more integrity and honor.

bro i wanna send my counselor my spring grades but i heard he isnt even at usc anymore (david jones) who should i send them to, to expedite the process?

@CADREAMIN Thanks! Yes I do think I’m still heading to UCB, Haas is just too hard to give up. If I was any other major my decision would be much harder to make. This process has been super tough but extremely rewarding! I’m starting at Haas in a few weeks and I’m so excited, but USC was my dream for so long. This is definitely the hardest one to give up.

Congratulations to everyone that also got in! USC is such an amazing school. To those of you still waiting- remain hopeful! I got mine so late I was seriously starting to doubt myself. Stay strong!
Peace out y’all good luck to everyone :slight_smile:

@USCtrojanpls not yet.

@sagaciousforever Sorry for the late response, Ive been busy with my finals and getting my fin aid situated. It still isnt situated if youre wondering lol. And What do you mean by credit report? Are you talking about fin aid? If you are, I’m still in the process of getting my fin aid package sent to me. They’re taking forever omg!!! Asking for a bunch of documents that I had to go to my parents tax people lol. But hopefull it comes out tomorrow since I sent it last tuesday.

@Trashception Congrats man!! So glad that you got in, especially for Fall.

I emailed USC and they couldn’t move me from Spring 2020 to Fall 2019, and I thought that they don’t have enough spots. However, it seems like USC reserves some Fall 2019 spots for people who got SGRs waiting to hear back in June and July.

It would be nice if spots are transferable so I could take your spot for Fall 2019 since you are not attending. Unfortunately, that is not possible.

Best of luck at Cal!

@TheGoldenBoy Credit report is your transfer credit report. You can check that on USC OASIS to see how many of your credits will transfer to USC. Mine is still processing and you should get it earlier than me since you got into Fall.

Good luck with your financial aid!

@CADREAMIN

I have a question about the math placement test. I am a rising junior Marshall student and I finished Business Calculus, so do I still have to take the math placement test before attending orientation?

no since you have taken calculus whether it is bus. or engineering.
