I FINALLY got assigned housing today!! I got assigned to Century Apartments 2B4P-SM. It was actually my 2nd choice on the preference list, so I am very happy about this. It falls within my financial aid budget, and I was assigned to a gender inclusive room  I think I am on the Rainbow Floor, which should be fun!

Vegastransfer, what date did you submit your housing application?

@jorgetirebiter May 4th. My application took longer to process than most people since I requested gender inclusive housing. If you applied to regular housing, they are working on assignments for people who applied around May 24th right now.

Thank you vegastransfer, my daughter was accepted on 05/29 to dornsife as a junior transfer and applied to housing on 05/30 in the AM. I don’t think there was a wave of acceptances for about a week prior to that, so hopefully she gets usc housing soon. Do you have any insight on how close they are to filling up?

Hi everyone,
Im still desperately waiting for usc and i havent sir to any school yet. My last day to sir is tomorrow. Do u guys think its a good idea to pay 250$ for SIR tmr while waiting for usc even though i dont want to go there. Thanks

@RyanLam Bad situation, but I say pay it.

Yes $250 is worth the peace of mind and security. You’ll forget about how little this $250 meant to you in a couple years from now

So after we get accepted is there a specific guideline as to how high our gpa needs to be for spring semester? Or is there no D or F’s allowed or anything like that?

I’m very worried as I think I’ll be getting a D in a class this semester but I’ll have 77 units done and the class is philosophy and not needed for USC I think.

@EricDee @TheGameOfLoans yeah uc davis gave me full ride for the entier year. However i dont want to go there. Its like 6hours away from Los. I live in Los.

@RyanLam SIR to Davis. btw, a “full ride” is a term that refers to getting a merit scholarship or athletic scholarship (because you have achieved something extraordinary in either case) to cover the cost of tuition or COA - it is not a term to refer to getting an education paid for through financial aid whether in grants or loans.

I am guessing you mean your education at Davis is paid for through various financial aid, not a full ride. The loose use of that term does confuse and mislead many.

Guys, I’m freaking out because I got my final grade today and I received 2 Bs which was very shocking because I thought I was getting one B this semester. Apparently, I didn’t do well on the final and it dropped my overall grade to a B. I received a B in a GE class and a B for a major prep class. I got an SGR in early April and since I’m getting 2 Bs and especially a B in a major prep class. Am I screwed? Am I rejected? Will USC consider the fact that I received a 4.0 for the Fall Semester? Is there anyone who’s on the same page as me or anyone who got admitted with a B in their major prep course? (Sophomore transfer btw) Please let me know. I’m literally freaking out right now and I really want to cry. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

@blueskies2day i got their regents 30k grants scholarship not financial aid. Idk if its considered “full ride” or not.
Anw thanks

@Trojan4u1001 hey, you’re gonna be okay. Just calm down a little because there is nothing you can do right now. You did your best and all you can do is hope for the best. I’m sure USC will understand your application and as long as you had a solid essay everything will go well. Again, just don’t think rashly and enjoy your summer right now
