2019-2020 USC Transfer

Hey guys may i ask all of u who got admitted that did u guys see your decision by portal, email or regular mail?
Thank you

@RyanLam Yup, found out in an email, then checked the portal, then a package arrived in the mail. I actually don’t remember much anymore but I think i was accepted on a Friday afternoon, then a package came on Monday? I think. Lolol

Hi guys, anyone accepted in earlier in june and still hasn’t gotten their financial aid? Do I need to accept my admission to view it? I’m not sure why mine isn’t posted yet.

I am a father of transfer student who was accepted May 29th. She applied for housing on May 30th. I called housing last Friday and they said she was 73rd on the list, but that they were assigning some housing later that day and to call back on Monday if she was not assigned housing. I called this morning and she has moved up to 29th in line. They said they probably would not do another assignment wave until after the July fourth holiday. My question is, does anyone have past experience on the chances my daughter will get usc housing? Or should we be looking for off campus housing?

@Chez59 wow thats fast. I see many ppl here have to wait for weeks for the packages arrive.

congratulation. I am a mom and waiting for my son’s result! I would try https://www.thelorenzo.com/ for housing. They have 24x7 security and shuttles and it is much nicer than usc apartments.

@90smix yeah i realized that. I should have just left USC and gone to a CCC instead. could have worked less hard and gotten into all of these UCs. I think it was just challenging to mentally get around going from a top merit scholarship at USC to taking CCC classes, but I guess that would’ve made way more sense in the bigger picture given the admission odds for UCs.

@RyanLam haha yeah it is. It could have been the next Monday though? I’m not sure, but it will get there and it was exciting hahah

@jorgetirebiter I would be checking into Gateway by calling and get a feel what their availablity is and just to know you have that as an option (they eventually sell out too) but wait till after the next wave to see what happens.

It is as close to campus as you can be without being on campus, and close to food, CVS, etc.

hey guys I got accepted about two weeks ago and i havnt gotten anything in the mail yet? how long does it take for the acceptance package to come in the mail

Thank you cadreaming. You’re the best! I spoke with Joe at Gateway and he said I probably have until mid July until they fill up. I am considering pulling the trigger and just leasing at Gateway next year as even if my daughter gets usc housing, the cost is not much different and we won’t know which housing she may get through usc housing.

Never got an SGR, applied in January… still haven’t heard back!! I think that means I’m rejected?

Have any dornsife applicants gotten their decisions recently? I’ve been waiting for two months since I turned in my spring grades. Do they release decisions for those who got SGRs by colleges as well?

@90smix I’ve read many of your posts and there must be reason (most likely incomplete app) that you haven’t heard anything. I know you said in earlier post you called them but I would keep calling until I receive a satisfactory answer … good luck

My daughter went ahead and signed a lease at Gateway. I think it made the most sense as she will be able to choose her roommate and the location is great.

How long does it usually take for USC to prepare the transfer credit report?

Yeah I’m not sure @viterbi2021 because everything is checked off on my status page, oh well lol

heyyyyy JUST got IN! Accepted for Fall! Dornslife Sociology!
Saw an update on my portal a little after 5pm! No email prompting me.
Turned in Spring grades less than a week ago. SO EXCITED!

Hello, I have been a committed view of this thread for MONTHS trying to maintain my sanity and wanted to include more informational news for all future and current anxious aspiring transfers:
Accepted: Annenberg Communications Fall 2019 on June 25 (SGR unofficially submitted 24). Communications was my first choice
It has been a process to say the least. I was a first-year from a UC quarter system school. Annenberg first sent me a Winter Grade Request in March, then an additional letter of recommendation (to be submitted within 48 hours of the date I was notified) in April, then at last, the Spring Grade Request in May. I received a 3.93 GPA Spring Quarter and a 3.78 GPA Winter Quarter. Hope this helps! A sincere thank you to all who have contributed to this thread and kept me well informed throughout this process. Wishing everyone the best of luck.

I sent in my grades around 3 weeks ago and still no response :frowning:
