@dudeguy123332 same, i sent mine end of may and haven’t gotten anything back. Just a msg from my counselor saying i’ll get a decision “soon”.
Just got into Dornslife like an hour ago for Spring 2020! I received an SGR in late May and turned in my grades 5 days ago. I’ve pretty much committed to WashU though so I prob won’t attend, but best of luck to everyone still waiting!!
@jorgetirebiter Great choice - I was trying to give you some thoughts, but the update was going on. Gateway was great for mine when there - it is very much like a dorm environment without the restrictions of a dorm (having friends over/staying late, etc), so I think she will really like it. Safe, close, (parents love this) convenient, gorgeous wading pool that is never busy, easy/reliable to get packages. We had no issues with maintenance - things were fixed promptly and they have a great garage if you want to bring a car. For transfers, the dorms can seem restrictive and limited socially - it’s not like transfers meet more people when in a dorm because they are placed so randomly - I really think she made the right choice rather than getting stuck somewhere.
To all that are still waiting for a decision, I believe that this long wait is a result of USC admissions waiting for the other sgr people to send in their grades. That way they can compare you guys to the people who just sent in their sgr and see who is more worthy to gain admission into their limited spots. I hope that makes sense. This is just my guess so I’m not certain if this is correct.

Accepted: Viterbi majoring in Computer Science
College transferred from: Virginia Commonwealth University (rising Junior at USC now!) and studied abroad one semester in Italy
GPA: 3.92 (they asked for SGR then I was accepted)
EC: Involved in creative writing club, film club, and study abroad mentorship program at VCU.
Good luck to everyone! I was rejected by USC going into my sophomore year and gave it another shot and got in for my junior year; don’t be discouraged and remember you never know what they are looking for!
I wanted to ask however, I am applying for housing and curious where rising junior transfers are applying to live (what buildings)?
I know im a bit late too the party but, Looks like CaliWeedandUSC will be heading too USC this Spring! Sent my SGR exactly a week ago, had 33 units with a 3.91 GPA. I didnt get an email, but saw the update on my portal at 5:08 PM. Today started poorly as I threw up and had dumpster juice spill on me when throwing out the trash… but good things always come after bad days!
This is getting ridiculous. I sent in my Spring grades almost two months ago and have yet to receive any update. Does this school genuinely expect everyone to twiddle their thumbs hoping to someday hear back from them? Classes begin late August - we’ll be out of luck when it comes to on campus housing and you can forget about getting a decent place off campus within a reasonable budget when you only have a month or so to search. Pathetic… rant over

I disagree with that because that doesn’t explain why some people get a response a day after sending in their spring grades.

You guys I accepted my offer to 2 colleges bc I don’t wanna just choose USC without knowing the financial aid package. They keep asking for more documents and it’s very annoying smh. Anyone else or nah? Incredibly frustrating.
@woshua - I know there is always a period of adjustment with a new format of everything, but the boxes are way too big - I can only see like 4 or 5 threads on a page without scrolling where I use to see 20! Not sure if that is just me being dumb or what. There has to be a way to condense I would think, ugh. And the “featured threads” being from 2014 with only 5 pages of posts makes no sense at all - it was pretty meaningless then and is now 5 years old. What the heck with that? And no more “save draft” of a post, uh? So ya, not feeling anything positive about it yet, but trying to be open and give it time. I think their CS people aren’t working with marketing/design people, always seem to be a decade behind.
@chez59 Everyone has to turn in all the required docs or it just won’t process and be complete for you to make the call.
@seiftceo Everyone should be looking for off campus housing at this point. Some will squeak in, but it’s not like on campus options for transfers are that great anyway. Get familiar with what is out there.
Is it worth asking my counselor when I can expect a decision? It’s been a full month now since I’ve turned in my Spring grades and have her say it’ll be soon
Thank you cadreaming. I have been reading this blog for some time and your advice directed me to gateway. My daughter is very happy she chose gateway. I have never seen her so excited, she worked very hard . She was a TTP.

I sent my counselor David Jones an email 6 days ago and he hasn’t responded yet. The SGR has also disappeared from my application checklist a few days after submitting my transcript. Has this happened to anyone?
