Honestly I’ve just been waiting for so long it doesn’t even seem real anymore. If that makes any sense whatsoever. I keep forgetting about it then randomly remembering and going to check my portal and still nothing. I really don’t get what’s taking so long but…hoping for the best still. Hang in there guys, whoever’s waiting. Just know you’re not alone with this.
@transferusc88 If you check last year’s transfer thread, a bunch of students with a SGR heard back in the first and second weeks of July.
I know this is kind of last minute but I’m planning to apply for housing today. Is there a list of houses I should avoid that you wouldn’t recommend?
@usctransfer88
Still in same boat as you…My Dad said not to worry, USC is forcasting the yield and will be sending out more acceptances over next couple of weeks .
No SGR here… haven’t heard back. weeeeeird
I’m really hoping and praying I get something today. Ugh…The wait is killing me.
I submitted my Spring grades about six weeks ago and my unofficial transcript two months ago - have yet to get a decision. I emailed my counselor and she just said I wouldn’t hear anything till mid-July. What a pathetic joke.
@swiftceo Kinda jealous your counselor actually replied back…my counselor is always miraculously “out of the office and will be back in a few days” each time I call the admissions office…must be nice to be able to not show up to work that often.
@fuhnancy Mine is the same way. It took two weeks for them to mark my spring grades as received even though my school verified they had been received the day after I sent them. They were miraculously processed the morning I emailed asking what was going on.
@CADREAMIN I’m afraid that you were right about the day of decisions. I haven’t got my decision yet and I don’t even know why my counselor was so sure that my decision would be out at the end of June. Unbelievable!
I tried to sent him an email this morning and got an automated email saying that he is now currently on holidays for long weekend and will be back until July 8 or 10. What a joke!!
Hi guys! I’m in a similar boat, I sent my spring grades May 26th and they were received May 31st. I’ve been waiting a month now to hear back and it’s worrying because it’s such a late notification period. However I have a really great counselor who’s gotten back to me in speedy time and notified me the class of 2021/22 is being finalized this week. Fingers crossed for those still waiting it’s good news!!
@Fighton2710 good to hear but keep in mind you should just believe 50% in what they say. They told me many times with transcripts, SGR, decisions at the exact days but they were all wrong.
Finger crossed!
I hope we hear sometime this week. It’s literally July. I know people said it was gonna be a long wait with an SGR but I didn’t actually realize how painfully tiring it would be I guess lol. Sending good vibes out for today, it’s July 1 and yeah it’s a Monday but at this point who even knows.
I also just want to say this.
I applied for another school that is rolling admissions (still taking applications until the end of this month) on June 18. Sent everything in, transcripts and all LORs, got in contact with a counselor, everything. They accepted me on June 28. 10 days. It took them 10 days. Not 5 months. Now I know that they aren’t as big as USC, and I may have applied late, but I have heard that they get back pretty quickly during regular admission (season?) taking around a month.
I just wanted to point it out for some people who don’t have many options. There are still some schools taking applications who will get back to you if everything doesn’t work out with USC. There are some schools that want you and will take you with no hesitation. Everyone has a place they belong at.
@MoonKnight I would like to apply yes, but at this point, I’m like it’s only going to be a couple of years wherever I go are you attending?
Do you mind sharing how much your parents make? @TheGoldenBoy
I submitted my SGR and it disappeared from my portal about 4 days later. I noticed that
under the “Application in Review” section of FAST, the writing changed to “Your financial aid application is currently in review. Please note: We will notify you during the review process if additional documents are required. Financial Aid Summaries for transfer students are usually available three to five business days after all required documents have been received.” I noticed that the last sentence is different (that last time it changed for me it read something about May. Did this happen for everyone who submitted their SGR/did anyone else who already received their decision notice this?
@brookeiu I have the same message. Everyone probably has it.
I would love to be wrong, but just to take some daily pressure off, I wouldn’t expect there to be any decisions this week. They tend to do the last hoorah between July 8 -10th. Wish @transferusc88 would make me look bad and get something this week though! (Congrats on locking in an option btw!) So if any way to put this out of your mind and go on with your life and enjoy the 4th of July holiday week, I would strongly recommend that! Then if something happens this week it will be a great unexpected surprise! Wishing you all still hanging in there the good news you deserve - if for nothing else, the endurance to stick with it.
@CADREAMIN Thanks for the support always, very grateful for you. Hoping to hear some good news soon, but just like you said, let’s all try to have a great holiday this week! You’ll be the first to hear if I get in!!! Hang in there everyone.
My SGR finally updated. Apparently none of my emails that I sent to my counselor was replied to was because I was using her old email address the entire time…oof
