2019-2020 USC Transfer

@PokeBear A lot of majors dont even require letters of rec. Some do, but for others theyre just optional, not even recommended

If i submitted my midterm report through the portal, would they still request a SGR?

I’m really happy for everyone getting their acceptances but I feel this unshakable sense of impending doom. Even if I don’t get in, I’m not going to bash USC like some people choose to do. Instead, to all of those with the “Golden Ticket”, please make the most it. And to those that don’t, you’re not a failure. Even if it stings, you are going to be ok, even if it doesn’t feel that way in the moment. And to those of you who are alone with no family to guide you through this, I’m rooting for you, all of you.

@Hopefull2013 They may. It depends.

thanks

@CookieMnstr Good luck to you as well!

@sagaciousforever
What do you mean that it depends?
I have 4.0 in both fall and first half of spring as a freshman. Worried about not getting the SGR

Hopefully, I will get a decision by this month!

@Hopefull2013 Rising sophomore applicants are more likely to get an SGR.

You should not worry at all. You can get accepted without getting an SGR.

If you have a good high school stats (3.7+,1450+), you are more likely to get accepted without an SGR.

@ttpusclover : It is the same to my daughter one year ago. She was ultimately admitted, but found that most of the courses her counselor suggested her to take would not be counted. Not all counselors treat their job seriously! For this particular counselor, he graduated from a lower tier UC campus, which students do not need to try hard to be admitted in. It is a shame that he does not know how serious it is that some students have been trying hard to get to top Universities.

lol I’m at a quarter system school have a 4.0 a 3.7 in HS and a 1510 sat and didn’t even get a winter grade request. PHAT L

@DDHH2017 Maybe you will get in without any grade request. Good luck!

@sagaciousforever
I do not agree. The wording on TTP offer is only on GPA. Thus it is logically absurd to SGR a TTP applicant if this applicant is attending at a top UC, and got 4.0 GPA.

@frozenbighead I think TTP applicants are more likely to get in without SGR.

@frozenbighead One of the biggest complaints I have is inconsistency of counselors - some are helpful, some treat you like you are lucky they are even talking to you. Not a fan of that.

@CADREAMIN My admission counselor is great. However, I wrote long paragraphs and great enthusiasm every time I emailed my admission counselor. I wrote long because of asking numerous questions and I don’t want to send several different emails asking questions in a month.

My definition of long is from 200 to 300 words.

Hopefully, this will not hurt me.

hope we can all get in !!! i can see we r very interested and passionate to USC

Hi guys.
I’m an international student who wants to transfer to USC for next semester (fall of sophomore year). I currently have 30 units (summer, fall, winter- at another school-, and fall) done but I’m ending this year with 43 units. I have a 3.98 GPA! I don’t have TTP, and I’m a first-generation college student. I learned English 4 years ago, and I’m now fluent! I speak three languages- English is my third. My first choice of major is Communication and my second Public Relations (both Annenberg). I was wondering if anybody knew when the decision for international transfers comes out? The visa process can take a long time, so I just wanted to double check (in case I get accepted). Hoping you guys all get accepted! Fight on!!!

Hi, has anyone sent their winter grades even though USC did not request them? I am an incoming junior transfer from Pasadena City College as biology major. (PCC is a semester system)
Thank you

Wait so, if I received an SGR, would submitting a mid-term grade report help at all?
