2019-2020 USC Transfer

@Trojan4u1001 Ohh I forgot to read the part that you are a TTP. Then, you are in.

Have fun and enjoy life now.

@CADREAMIN This semester will end early for me and I will get all my Spring grades by the end of next week. I will probably end with a 3.9 ish GPA for this semester.

When all grades are released, do you think that I should request my new college official transcript by mail to USC? I have not received an SGR yet, but I could send my Spring grades anyways to help them to make a decision faster. Or perhaps, it will expedite the decision process if they send me an SGR this month or next month since by then my new transcript will already be in?

Hi,
I’ve sent my winter grades but when I checked the portal, there was no update of USC receiving them. It’s been almost a week. Is that normal? :open_mouth: (I did not get a WGR, just wanted to update them cuz one of the classes I took was a major course)

@CADREAMIN Thank you so much for your response! I feel a lot better now.

@sagaciousforever I think it would be better if you send in your unofficial transcript with your Spring grades to your USC counselor so that way you can get a decision before May 31st. I hope you get the good news soon! Keep us updated!

@Trojan4u1001 Thanks for letting me know.

I have never gotten an SGR before so I am not too sure if it has to be official or it could be unofficial. If that’s the case, I will just send an email to my USC admission counselor with my unofficial transcript attached next week. Hopefully, I won’t hear a rejection next week so I could make that update.

@sagaciousforever Np! USC send me an email for an SGR and in that email, it mentioned “To expedite the process, you may also email an unofficial transcript to your admission counselor. To locate your admission counselor, please refer to the Find Your Counselor page. Please submit this information as soon as it is available. We cannot reach a final decision on your application until your spring grades are received.” So I’m positive that once your Spring Grades are in, you will hear back soon.

^^^If you have good grades to report, yes, they should be sent in. It’s another way of showing interest. No question. Don’t wait to be asked.

I am a junior transfer and am currently completing 2 lower division requirements. My grades have been consistent for the past 2 years at CC. For reference, I have about a 3.9 GPA. I did send in a mid-term report with all of my current grades. Could this lower my chances of receiving a SGR? Any input would be appreciated!

I’m a sophomore transfer to Dornsife without TTP, and I didn’t receive SGR… I have a 4.0 GPA and have only 1 Pre Req left… Does this mean that I will be rejected?

It means you have to wait to find out. No crystal ball on here. They don’t have room for everyone, but do have room for some, there is no obvious pattern that can give you an answer. They are a private holistic university, not a stat driven public.

@CADREAMIN will decisions come out at 5pm today like last week?

@wanjunhing that’s probably the best time to check the portal, in my opinion.

@wanjunhing @CADREAMIN Idk since they are a private university if they observe Good Friday so if decisions do not come out today, don’t be surprised. Again, not 100% positive

Hi everyone!
I am applying to Annenberg through Communications with a minor in Entertainment. My second-choice major is Business Administration. I am transferring from a California Community College. I have a 3.63 GPA and have played volleyball on campus for 2 years. I hold the record for most assists in a single game at my school, named all-conference player, athlete of the month, and co-captain. I have an internship with Film Mare Island where I worked as a studio operations intern and later hired on as a stage manager for the show 13 Reasons Why. Furthermore, I managed the social media pages for Film Mare Island where I increased likes per post, followers, and even caught the attention of the actors on 13 Reasons Why. I have also hosted Sports Broadcasting segments for my school. I contacted my admissions counselor at USC and she sent me a transfer agreement between my school and USC, however, there weren’t many classes that transferred. Will that affect me negatively?

I don’t expect more decisions till next week. Today would be early (but fabulous if it did) more likely 23rd-ish give or take a day is best guess. They aren’t necessarily Friday result people. They seem to like the 22nd and 23rd for all kind of results.

where do you check to see your admission status?

@TheCrookedSource portal

is that where you see your app checklist? Is it the same thing?

@jakecap1123 USC is not a religiously affiliated institution.
