2019-2020 USC Transfer

@helloimnervous Yes. It’s based on PST.

Any chance Dornsife with WGR will hear back next week?

Hi guys. I just want to know I got chance to get in.
Currently attend PSU
College GPA: 3.7 (upward trend (got 3.93 for fall 2018 semester)
Junior transfer (Currently sophomore in PSU)
Major: Biochemistry (biology as second choice)
Units Completed: 45 (currently taking 17 credits)
Major pre-reqs: completed (I think?)
ECs: Volunteered in hospital (Junior year in high school) and attended to association helped kids with cancer (freshman and sophomore year in college) . And I have a recommendation letter from my Chemistry professor. And other Ecs but I don’t remember.

@blmcali99 Decent chance. Good luck! USC likes to see your upward trend.

so if we are non TTP and did not receive a WGR/SGR is it likely that we’ll see a rejection this week?

@whereto2022 You guys are getting some bad information here, this is not a UC school with a set time like 5pm. Rely on the vets that post regularly on this site, they have your best interest in mind and not posting to mess with you. Some of the info you are getting is being pulled out of the air and is only going to cause you a lot of stress. If someone doesn’t or hasn’t attended USC, or is an applicant themselves, they likely don’t know anymore than you do. Buyer beware as they say.

@summit3 No big batch of rejections until end of May. Many many people are straight up accepted without an SGR, so you are in no way out of the running yet.

The next acceptances batch will be Marshall and Dornsife, likely starting this week. This is a long ride, buckle up.

@blueskies2day I apologize for saying 5pm, and it’s just my speculation based on past years USC transfer threads. It could come out anytime because it is based on a rolling basis.

Hi! I applied to Dornsife as a history major. I currently attend a second tier state school in the south. I just received a spring grade request last night and I’m wondering what my chances are of being admitted.
HS GPA: 3.8 (weighted)
Dual Enrollment GPA: 4.0
Current Uni GPA: 4.0
My spring GPA is also leaning towards being a 4.0 as well.

My situation is a bit weird because I applied as soon as I became a sophomore which was the end of my first semester as a freshman. So, basically I applied with the bare minimum of 30 credits with a good portion of the pre reqs completed. The only pre reqs I don’t have are sciences and statistics.

Any guess on this year’s acceptance rate? It was like 24 or 30 percent last year?

@blmcali99 Last year was 24 percent admit rate. I am guessing this year will be around 22 to 24 percent.

@sagaciousforever That doesn’t sound bad. This year’s freshman admit rate (11 percent) makes me nervous lol

@blmcali99 Freshman’s admission it always harder to get in because there are so many qualified applicants. Also, it’s hard to stand out because so many applicants have similar/identical GPA, SAT scores, and extracurriculars. Many USC transfer applicants, on the other hand, are unqualified or not competitive for admission. As long as you have good essays, decent recommendation letters, and a grade higher than 3.7, you will be fine and have a fair shot.

Also, USC likes to see an upward trend.

@blmcali99 Don’t be nervous if you have a 3.7 or higher and decent essays.

Good luck.

Hey everyone, I got an SGR last week as a non-TTP, does anyone know around what GPA I would need to have a good chance at being admitted? I had a 4.0 my first two quarters if that helps at all.

@blmcali99
Hey! I am also a current PSU student but am applying to be a sophomore transfer. I am a freshman right now. I thought I would be the only one applying from Penn State but it’s exciting to have someone else doing the same!

Hi guys. So I go to a CC and was nominated for a very prestigious award among all the students. Since USC is gonna release a big load of decisions this week… I was wondering if I should notify my admissions counselor that I was nominated for this award. I know it may seem small, but it’s a very prestigious award and I really want the admissions committee to know I received it

@transfer4maria Omg! I thought I would be the only person too. Hopefully we all get into USC!

I am applying for fall 2019, I currently have 41 units completed. Both the writing and math requirements are still in progress. Will that affect my chance at admission.

Hi everyone! If I want to update something, should I email my admissions counselor or call the admissions office? Pls help

@YaBoyAndre hey! are you on quarter or semester system?

edit: oops sorry just saw that you are on quarter system haha
