@sagaciousforever Im fine working at either coast to be honest, as I’ve lived in both for quite a while. I just wouldn’t like to live in the “middle states”. I don’t know why but I just living in either california or new york
@sostressed201 I’m assuming you’re referring over a TTP applicant with a 4.0 in community college who completed Calc 1 with an A and the advanced writing requirement with an A before the spring semester before transfer got rejected? Yeah man that’s not normal.
@chels991 I saw that too! They probably aren’t allowed to say much, but rumors are that it will begin more this week.
@sostressed201 GPA is not everything otherwise USC will be full of 4.0 applicants.
GPA is just one part of the application so I am not surprised if they did not make it.
@GoodAfternoonSir no 4.0 from a top 50 school without TTP but A+ in calc 1 and 2 I believe
@sagaciousforever yeah I know I just mean that nothing is concrete and it’s not like applying several times automatically means admission at USC
@sostressed201 Yeah that’s for sure.
@jakecap1123 I am! I’m applying SCA Film and Television Production, any idea of any trends when we’re supposed to hear back? Also, what are you applying for? I’m happy to see someone for SCA, I haven’t seen any others!
@ca6882 also an SCA applicant and impatiently waiting to hear back lol. did you get an interview?
Hoping with admissions posting “days in the life” of students that they will be releasing some decisions tomorrow
@sostressed201 Nothing is guaranteed. Plus, it is indeed possible to get rejected from USC even with those stats since the applicant is coming from a 4-year rather than a community college.
I’m not completely sure though if USC prioritizes community college students over 4 year applicants like the UC’s.
@GoodAfternoonSir I think they prioritize (according to an admissions officer on the phone) 1. Cali private or people with TTP and then 2. cali publics 3. cali CCs but I go to an out of state 4 year which is at the bottom either way
@GoodAfternoonSir USC is not like UC, as it does not favor/give priority to community college applicants.
USC doesn’t prioritize either CC or 4 years. They just accept the transfer applicants that would fit best at USC. Historically that has been about 50% CC students and 50% 4 years students. UC’s, on the other hand, do >90% from CC’s.
@Evaporation
Yeah! That’s what I thought. He was like ummmmmm like around late May. Since they’re are posting on their stories again maybe the rumors are true.
@chels991 I just spent the past half hour watching their other stories instead doing my physics homework haha.
@Evaporation same, I have an exam tomorrow and I have just been reading this thread for hours
@Evaporation
same. I have been watching their stories even during chem lecture today. lol
@ca6882 @filmmajorusc I haven’t heard any trends of when we are supposed to hear back… and I’m also applying Film and Television production! And interview? No I haven’t, do some people do? I didn’t get an interview with Chapman’s department and also got rejected so…
@jakecap1123 i’m film and tv production too! i got a Skype interview the first week of april. i don’t think it’s an indicator of being accepted or rejected
