Unfortunately the core team won’t stay together. Asdrubal Cabrera, Brian Dozier, Jeremy Hellickson, Daniel Hudson, Howie Kendrick, Gerardo Parra, Anthony Rendon, Fernando Rodney and Jonny Venters all just officially became free agents. And then there are the Zimmerman and Strausburg options. Agree STrasburg probably wants to stay and Zimmerman will probably take less. But the Lerners have some figuring to do.
Rendon turned down a signing bonuse right out of HS from the Braves (something like 27th round draft pick) to play baseball at Rice. Rice has a great baseball team but he still broke all sorts of records there.
I was happy that the Nats won but, man oh man, some of them made fools of themselves behaving badly at the Capitals game on Sunday. No excuse for that.
