Now that the dust has settled and my D’s results are all in, I thought I’d chime in. @fallenchemist has been dead on with advice and insight into the Tulane selection process. I wish all schools on CC had someone as helpful. My D was enticed by Tulane’s emails to apply EA, and it was admittedly as a safety. If not for the emails and 0 application fee, she would not have applied. She has stellar stats, but you never know going into this process where you will end up, and together with Tulane’s reputation and the appeal of generous merit aid, it was enticing and she bit. She showed interest, but she was deferred. On RD, she was waitlisted. Realistically, Tulane calculated that this was a safety for her, and it turned out to be the only school that waitlisted her. She was admitted to all her top choices.
The only bit of advice I offer to those with high stats and aren’t fully vested in attending Tulane if accepted: don’t bother applying unless it is a top choice for you.
D will remove herself from the waitlist. Best of luck to all who were admitted, and for those on the waitlist. It is a terrific school, and you have boundless futures ahead of you.
