2019 Undergraduate Admission

Hey,i am of class 12th
I’ve scored 75% in my 10th grade as follows:
Maths: 7gpa
English:8gpa
Science:7gpa
Hindi:7gpa
Sst:8gpa

I’ve scored comparatively good marks in 9th and scored 60% in my 11th grade
I am of commerce with informatics practices background!
I’ve scored less marks in my 12th half yearly because i panicked out and didn’t able to score good also because i was recovering with typhoid so didn’t able to score good.
I am planning to give SAT on this December,2018 and planing to score above 1200.
And my extra curricular activities is really good like I’m into basketball, one act plays, street plays, inter school presentations, dances, drawings etc. I have zonal level certificates of all the activities plus with a photo of mine in the Times of India newspaper of last year!
I have really good 2 LOR signed by my principal!
So what are the chances of mine to get into 2019 undergraduate admission? Is half yearly marks really considered in countries like US?
What should be my approach?

What major and what colleges?

What can you afford to pay each year towards college? Intended major?

You didn’t give a TOEFL score, but I think perhaps you ought to take it before you go any further. You will need at least an 80 plus $30,000+ each year up front to have a chance. Your numbers really aren’t high enough for full scholarships.

Very honestly, top and even some mid-range universities are out of the question. I am a CBSE student at an Indian School myself, so I understand how you think.

You said your extracurriculars were really good, but the reality is that no CBSE student truly understands what good is. You are a zonal level participant, but that can mean anything from districts to state. You need to convey your extracurriculars properly to have a chance. A photo in a newspaper is not an extreme proof of accomplishment, though it depends on why it was in the paper.

Also, 1200 is not a high score. Your grades are not high at all. Half-yearly marks may or may not be considered depending on the college and on the marks themselves.

Also, international recommendation letters are never usually very good. What you think is good is very different from what may actually be good.

I don’t mean to be rude, but because I understand your thought so well, I feel I need to say what is on my mind.
