2020-2021 USC Transfer

@ON5000 I wish you the best, I hope we can be classmates (physically or virtually haha) come fall!

@Doodlesack Just turned 21.

Has anyone been rejected yet from USC as a transfer?

@seabee91 @SilverBulletsOH

Awesome I’m in that age range too, you guys already got accepted right? Which major/school? I’m glad to hear about slightly older applicants, that, because there are schools where they like to keep it even, for example, Stanford they would never accept an older student, only younger after HS and like 4 to 6 CC transfers they accept/year in the same age range. This coming from one of my professors who taught at Stanford for a long time.

@Momof2boys1 Normally a TTP that is going to get admitted hears very soon - within a day or two - of sending in final grades. But I feel we are in bit of a stall here compared with years past…so not sure that will be the case. Normally this time of year, there is a steady post of “I got accepted” from different majors/schools. Not big waves, but some here and there every couple days till the big delivery the week of May 25th. Please let us know if you here this week, again under normal conditions I would say so, but it has been dried up on here for many many consecutive days now. It is not normal for sure.

They have such a balancing act this year, I think it is just taking them more time as they work toward fall plans to post in June - I do think they will have to be more picky because the numbers dictate they do. They have an over abundance of commits, study abroad not happening, and housing may be greatly reduced to accomodate safety mandates. So the one thing they don’t want to do is over commit on transfers, that is the one number left that they can still control/influence. I think they will be doing that cautiously.

@nyeoominheelys TTPs are rejected every year, actual several/many, most I would assume by their own undoing (poor grades/class choice/lack luster essays). It is in no way a guarantee.

Me, and bunch others here to lol

@Doodlesack omg wow I had no idea, I’m sorry to hear that :frowning: Around when was that response? Did you get an email notification to check?

I heard some people got accepted today, good luck to everyone who has yet to hear back!

Has anyone here been accepted/rejected to or from Dornsife? Im a psych major and have not heard anything.

I got into UC Berkeley and UCLA but usc was my top choice and the wait is exhausting. I can’t believe they only have about 80-90 members that have been accepted as transfers that is crazy (according to the number I saw in the transfer group on facebook, there’s probably some more out there)

Don’t get too drunk hahah

@seabee91 Were the acceptances to Marshall?

if you don’t mind me asking, what is your major/where are you from?

@seabee91 wait people got accepted today? non-ttp?

The group on fb is almost to 90, not that substantial of a growth.

Someone on the fb page mentioned a few friends of theirs got acceptances today. I asked if they were ttp, waiting to hear back.

I’m a Business Admin major from CA.

@nyeoominheelys I was rejected on the 31st of May last year, I got an email on the same day around 5 pm-ish I think with the decision. I was jogging lol I did not know mass rejections come out on that week especially on the 31st until this month! so for sure I wasn’t prepared and it was a big let down, I video call with mom grandma, fam we all did a countdown and all hahaha it was a big let down for them mostly, but I was honestly laughing my ass off and continued jogging! i recover from things so fast it’s ridiculous! I guess I trust myself that I can excel anywhere but going to USC… the school does the first big steps for you! (network, alumni, good internships etc)

This year I know now that if I didn’t hear during the last week of May I wouldn’t get my hopes up

@seabee91 is the fb group private (controlled by USC to verify admits before allowing members) or is it public?

It’s a private group ran by the USC Admissions people, they ask for your student id, date accepted and your major.

@nyeoominheelys sounds like you deferred your acceptance. If I were you, I would contact my usc advisor explaining the situation. After all, one of the notes regarding the plan is “stay[ing] in touch with the USC office of admission to ensure you make adequate progress.”

for those who have already been accepted, did you get your transfer credit report right away or did you have to wait? I just got into Tisch at NYU and had way more credits transfer than I thought so I’m hoping I could compare them right away if I were to hear back with good news from USC because NYU’s enrollment deadline is so short…only a week after you’re given your offer of admission.
