2020-2021 USC Transfer

rejected. but totally cool with me cause at least, I got into northeastern Uni with a full scholarship. Congrats to those who got in!!!

@emmyemmye From my understanding, transfers don’t have a set appeal process like freshmen in that they can hear about their appeal status at any time and have no set date. Has this changed? When I appealed, I just send a pdf to my admissions counselor and he replied by saying “I’ve forwarded this to the appeals committee”. I did not hear about my rejection being upheld until August. There have been successful appeals though. I was chatting with one of them awhile back and he did amazingly well in one of the GEs I recommended

@NicolasJ @onewonwun me too. I think the portal changes so it will come out on today, but may be our last names are x,y,z. Thus, we are slow! Are you ?

@zettasyntax Hi! I was wondering the same thing as @emmyemmye ! I think they have changed the appeal process because there’s now a button below the status update where you can submit an appeal of admission decision letter.

Same, rejected. Graduated Summa Cum Laude (3.99) from my CC, with enough transferable credits and great recs, EC’s, etc. I thought my portfolio was great, but maybe not. Oh well, it’s really unpredictable. Congrats to everyone who was accepted, though!!! I got accepted into NYU Tisch so I’ll most likely commit there!

Still nothing for me…

Putting the film production dream to rest I guess lol

@calicoffee Oh wow, that’s interesting then. People have often been confused by the appeals process because there was never really a set way to do it before. The NetID thing sounds somewhat glitchy though. I don’t imagine they’d assign those to people who weren’t admitted.

@grapesoda2 it is what it is

Hi Everyone,

I’ve never commented much, but have been a longtime lurker lol.

I received my admission decision today around 8:30PM EST (no email) and was rejected. My first choice was USC School of Pharmacy for Pharmacology & Drug Development and my second & third choice was Dornslife (Biology & Psychology).

I graduated Magna Cum Laude (3.94) from a community college in Kansas in December 2019 with 74 credits. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa and a couple of other clubs; and I’m a Jack Kent Cooke Semifinalist.

Do you guys think it’s worth appealing the admission decision?

@Eric392014 My last name starts with an A! Really weird lol

@NavyGuy2019 Such a bummer man. Keep your head up, and I wish you the best of luck with your moving process. I have a friend that’s doing Real Estate Development at UCSD and he loves it. Wishing you all the best and thank you for all of your input over the thread!

Congrats everyone!!

Reading this thread I see there are plenty of amazing people with very high GPA’s 3.8s-4.0s with clubs/activities, letters of recc etc. I’m saddend for all of us, but we will still go on to do great things !

3.97- Dornislife Psy / Neuro 2nd choice - Chems,Phys,Bios,Cal,Psys, other gen ed other than one also done. 3 great letters of recc, 1000 volunteer hours, various clubs. I got a great scholarship to a local school, but I wanted to reach for something higher. Maybe I will get that for my masters.

Can anyone else not get into the thing to appeal? It’s giving me an error. @calicoffee @emmyemmye

@Eric392014 Same with me. Only the covid box went away.

@UCLA22CogSci/LINGCS Yeah I can’t get into it either. It requires a NetID to get into the system and I’m pretty sure they don’t give those to students who weren’t admitted, so I’m not sure what to do!

Rejected

is going to be hard to recover from this one
