2020-2021 USC Transfer

@gabsPL Aspects of one’s financial situation determined by USC is determined by also using the CSS profile - the results of FAFSA EFC often don’t take everything into consideration that the CSS does. So the EFC can differ greatly than the end result of granted FA. And someone else’s financial situation has no relevance to any one else, so their EFC is pretty useless information.

This is an unpopular opinion but here goes nothing…

I’m enjoying my time at USC but I can’t say it’s worth the cost. $57,226 is a ridiculous sum of money. Regardless of prestige. And tuition is going to get increasingly more expensive.

Does anyone one when the next wave would be of decisions? I don’t want to put a deposit down yet for another school.

I wish i had the answer to that lol. But i think its gonna be thursday or friday like last week.

Monday is June 1st. So, I would assume they’d do it this Thursday & Friday. That’s what happened last week.

@CADREAMIN would you say it’s worth it to appeal if I got rejected but I feel that my spring grades would have shown strong improvement? Didn’t get an SGR but I feel it would have helped my case…

Hi everyone, @CADREAMIN
I applied this year as a freshman out of SMC as a political science major in Dornsife. I was SGRd on April 15 and am waiting on the semester to end so I can send in my grades. I took Micro and Macro econ to satisfy my math requirement as a transfer, and was wondering if anyone knew if that was frowned upon. Like should I have taken a traditional math class? Or is it fine that I took economics due to my major not being based around math?

Just checked at 5. Still nothing

i think i just got a transfer merit scholarship?? it says for a quarter tuition…anyone else?? I’m confused lol

I just got a transfer merit scholarship as well! So happy, wow this helps my financial situation so much!

Just checked. Nothing for Marshall. I think they are waiting for few more days to be able to better predict how many of the admitted people will come to USC by looking at the the number of people who paid the deposit already. Hope, there is a good news on Thursday or Friday .

I’ve also just been named a USC Transfer Merit Scholar!

Can someone explain how the scholarship works?? Will I receive less need-based financial aid since I have received this scholarship? I haven’t gotten my financial aid package yet so I’m very curious as to how this will affect the cost of my attendance…

So for appeals, the cover page and the 1-page appeal should all be included in no more than 1 page?

COOL congrats. Congrats to all that received a scholarship. Although is it weird that they are already announcing scholarships even though they haven’t finished accepting students, or is this just a common thing.

@uscvibes I don’t think that Econ is equivalent to the USC math requirements. Check your school’s articulation agreement with USC.

Did you guys who received a transfer merit scholarship already get your financial aid offer? Where are you checking it?

@user_423289 I didn’t get my financial aid offer yet, they just send an email notifying about the scholarship award

Hey @CADREAMIN ! thanks for all your help!

What math class do you recommend I should take to meet the general requirement? I am enrolled at SMC.

Additionally, I enrolled in a community college this spring and aim to apply to USC for Fall 2021. How many credits do you think I should have to have a strong application? Thanks!

Has anyone tried to appeal?
