2020-2021 USC Transfer

@poolsideconvo78 I got an SGR 4/15 they received my official transcript May 22 so time will tell ??:v:?:v:?

@gabsPL how many days after you were admitted did you get your financial aid info?

@harperfang great post, very helpful!

anybody got rejected after sending their SGR?

@erina19 I got rejected after sending an SGR last night. I was really disappointed because I got a 4.0 for my spring term too.

@py9877201162 Thanks for the input! I’ve actually already been committed to a different school (Northwestern) and withdrew my USC app, so I’m really only concerned about employment / mayyyybe grad school stuff at this point, but I just dropped into this thread since I thought it’d be a good place to get an answer from someone hahaha :slight_smile:

@onewonwun Congrats!! Do you mind sharing your stats? Also, when did you get accepted?

My son submitted his Spring Grades this morning, after receiving a SGR. Any idea how long it may take to get a decision?

@River65 for some people it took a week, for me it took two weeks, some even longer, I don’t know I feel like it just depends :frowning:

@yutopiu4313 are you a junior or a sophomore? and what major?

@woshua - Yes!

Your experience is probably the most helpful on this thread. You have walked through the trenches & came out the other side. You might have a few callouses after your journey but you’re in.

@lavidaenrosa i got in last Thursday and i got my financial aid on Wednesday night!

I got a SGR and was rejected last night, but I have a 3.8 GPA and am extremely involved in my current school, and I also volunteer with my University. I think I was rejected for the fact that I already have an opportunity at Pepperdine University to thrive, so for students who attend community’s, it’s more of a necessity to get in, whereas for me it was just personal preference. Out of all this though, I came out comparing both Pepperdine and USC, and realizing that Pepp offers a lot more than I previously realized. I want to be a lawyer, and Pepp offers a certificate in conflict management from their Dispute Resolution program, which has been #1 in the country for the past 13/16 years. USC doesn’t offer anything like this. Additionally, I was concerned with networking since I’m first-gen, but Pepp now has a contract with AEG, the company that owns L.A. Live, the Staples Center, LA Kings, and so much more. Pepperdine even has their own classroom built into the Staples Center! With this in mind, it’s clear to see that the Alumni network of my school is vastly increading. Truth is, Pepperdine is on an upward trend, and I think in a few years time it will share similar prestige to USC, if it isn’t recognized already for its incredible resources. Overall, USC was a school I had hoped to attend simply because I wanted the bigger name, tailgating, and the big college experience, but I don’t think that was strong enough a reason to throw away the great opportunities at Pepp. I am upset that USC told me no, rather than me getting to tell them no, but that upset-feeling comes whenever one gets rejected on a merit-based situation. I know my grades are strong, i’m well-involved, and i’m more than capable of being a USC student, but at the end of the day Pepperdine is where I belong, and I think USC admissions understood that too.

Good luck to everyone else! I have a lot of love for USC, as some of my closest friends go there, but if you got rejected too and don’t know where else to go in LA, consider Pepperdine!

any junior spring admits???

@Terzzzzz are you a junior spring admit?

@NicolasJ Although you didn’t get the exact news you wanted regarding USC, Pepperdine is seriously an amazing school with great programs regarding business, law, etc. It is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. I got into USC for Real Estate Development with the intention to double major in accounting or business, and I was really compelled to attend Pepperdine after receiving a full scholarship. However, I believe that I will attend USC. Although both of the campus environments are extremely different, Pepperdine is truly a great school, with proficient teachers, programs, and strong connections with great companies. I think you are making a great choice. Best of luck!

Does anyone know what time USC usually releases their wave of decisions? On the east coast btw.

Did anyone receive a decision today? or were they sent out last night?

Does anyone know how to log into OASIS? I wanted to see my STARS report to see what classes transferred and I can’t seem to access it through myUSC.
