2020-2021 USC Transfer

What is it like? Because I’m thinking to go to CSUF my first year I’m pretty dedicated but don’t know what to expect when u say it’s a lot of work? Is it too overwhelming? I’m scared I won’t be able to keep up or maintain good grades. Do you do anything beside the grades? Internships or president of a club or anything of that matter. In high school I was pretty average as week with a 3.9 weighted GPA and a few AP classes including CALCULUS AB. @4yourhope

@erina19 By any chance are you a TTP applicant? I sent in an additional certificate I got from an online class last week to my admissions counselor yesterday and he responded “Thank you for your email and the updated information. I will add this information to your application.”. Considering your admissions officer said your app is under review I wonder if TTP are students are being reviewed right now/my app just hasn’t been under review yet/ I’ve already been rejected and this is kind of a hint?

Would you update your counselor on a grade you got for your 8 week class this semester?

@historylover5 I definitely would. I was taking an online class through John Hopkins that I only finished maybe a week ago so I sent the certificate in yesterday and my admissions counselor still took it. I think if they’re already reviewing your app it might not be considered but I mean the worst they’ll say is they won’t take it so why not!

when do you all think we will hear back?

Does anyone else not have the “withdraw application” button on the portal as of today? Wonder if this means anything…

@uscfan23 i still have mine, that’s interesting. not sure what it means though. and @colb1234567 may 31 is what the admissions lady told me when I called ~1 week ago.

@uscfan23 i still see the withdraw option on my portal

AFAIK they won’t say actual dates decisions will come out and just say may 31. based on previous years, it will be rolling.

@sleeplessincali I wouldn’t be annoying them right?

@uscfan23 interesting, when did it go away for you? I still have mine

@historylover5 I would say you’re absolutely not annoying them!! This is literally what they do for a living and I have had friends who applied and got into usc and they annoy their admissions counselors about every. little. thing. Plus this is useful information, I’m sure they’re happy that you’re not giving them pointless information like that you got a new color sweater or something random :smile:

@uscfan23 are you a TTP applicant?

@historylover5 I emailed my counselor about adding something extra to my application too (an EC)! It’s perfectly fine if it’s relevant

@sleeplessincali I am a ttp applicant and I also noticed that my “withdraw application” button was removed recently (idk if it was today or not)

@uscfan23 my withdraw application option is still there but it’s formatted different now

@sleeplessincali Yeah I’m ttp

@uscfan23 Pretty sure that’s a great sign then!!

@sleeplessincali thanks! I will send over my grades then. What does your format look like now?

@uscfan23 Last year when I applied, my withdraw application thing disappeared, and very soon after I received a decision (I can’t remember exactly how long)- it could just be a coincidence, but I do think it means you will receive a decision soon.

@historylover5 It used to be listed in a concise bullet format under my materials, and now it’s a sentence saying “If you are no longer interested in pursuing admission to USC, please click here to withdraw your application”. Pretty sure I’m just really overthinking it and it means my app hasn’t been viewed yet but i did notice the format change, nothing crazy though.
