2020-2021 USC Transfer

Realistically when do you think USC should reply to a TTP student, historically when have kids heard back?

@zettasyntax Did you get in?

Also, which scholarship emails did everyone receive? The only one I got was for the Norman Topping Student Aid Fund.

I didn’t get an SGR request but there was an email that said this:
“USC is piloting a new tool to help us process transfer credit evaluation, and we would like your help. Please review the information below and then visit our website to report your college-level coursework using the following login credentials.”

Familiar?

@idislikemyself from what i’ve heard, more people who don’t receive SGRs get accepted than those who do. i wouldn’t worry, they might see all the credits you have and if you have good grades and some killer essays that might be enough to make a decision off of

Any idea on when the second wave for non-TTP may be?

@Nightmanrunneth The Norman Topping email is the only scholarship email I’ve received as well. As for the email you quoted it seems like mostly everyone got that. It also specified in the email that it has nothing to do with your admission and its a tool they want to test out to implement in the future so you don’t have to worry about it. Trying it out was optional

@freckledskylight im hoping sometime next week. in the past they release a small wave of decisions for Marshall/Dornsife last week of april/first week of may (last year it was may 1 and i think previous years were April 26ish).

@mill213 ty for the reassurance haha : )

Rejected from UCLA. Hoping for the best with USC and out of state schools. Good luck to everyone in a similar situation, its getting tough to stay positive.

I’m surprised no one posted about this yet but I received a SGR today at 5 pm as well as two of my other friends. We are all first-years at a CCC and have completed around 16 units and around 16 more in progress.

What majors are u guys?

I really want to hear back soon too! I’ve gotten into UMIch, BU, and NYU so far, but I really want USC lol

after getting rejected from UCLA TFT today I sincerely hope USC SCA doesn’t send decisions out into June like according to previous years

For non-TTP, out of state kids, do you think they take into account the school you attend? I only have a 3.5 GPA, but I’m applying from Amherst.

This is the list they have online for 2019 Transfer Students by School:

Agriculture and Life Sciences: 223
Architecture, Art, and Planning: 10
Arts and Sciences: 44
Engineering: 23
Cornell SC Johnson College of Business
The Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management: 47
School of Hotel Administration: 74
Human Ecology: 49
Industrial and Labor Relations: 118

Wrong thread sorry

Got a winter grade request for cs junior applicant from uc.
Haven’t taken any physics classes so idk if that will get me rejected? It wasn’t a hard req for viterbri …

it seems USC is giving out alot of SGRs this year.

so, um, my accounting professor told me that SGR are REALLLLLLLY common for sophomores but less common for JUNIORS.

juniors have enough credits apparently and sophomores are still kinda based on high school. dont quote me on that but she sends like 50 students to USC every year so im sure she would know -__-

EITHER WAY, U ARE ALL WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND IM SURE U WILL GET IN

@heyigotnoclue that makes sense. usc publicly stated the most common reasons for asking for a SGR is they want to confirm your strong level coursework (especially for freshman), you’re in the process of meeting a requirement or recommended course, or you have shown potential and they want to see if you have improved grades. pulled this info off their website

@mill213 - yes so i only got winter grade request for some reason even though we are semester but alright… this is 3rd time so im like…

EXHAUSTED. -_-
