Hey I’m also applying to Vandy for transfer and was wondering why you wanted to leave?
If decisions were to come out today does anyone know at what time?
@dood523 most likely between 5pm-6:30pm PST
@“UCLA22CogSci/LINGCS” I’m sure that they look at the class of 22’ to determine amounts as well but they have certain numbers for incoming students each year. After freshmen applications they fill the difference in transfer students.
If I get admitted, I actually want a spring admit so I can hopefully skip this covid online bs and just earn more money for another few months
@carsf27 hi!! personally i just wasnt very happy at vandy and in nashville. in addition, i have some health conditions that can get me hospitalized sometimes and being in california would make that a bit easier for my family to help me with, as theyre moving to arizona soon. if i have to stay at vandy another year, it wouldnt be the end of the world, but im just looking to be happier
@ketchup23 first off, definitely consider it if you get in. my experiences at vanderbilt arent representative of the typical vandy student experience. you can read my response above the vast majority of students at vandy are really happy there. i just happened to have a not-so-great year and some not-so-great experiences with other students and professors.
How confident are we that there may be a wave tonight?
@dood523 hoping there is one in an hour bro… anyone call admissions? i was looking to call them right now, but i don’t want to be rude!
@namiswan Don’t bother calling admissions, they’re not gonna tell you anything other than getting a decision or SGR by May 31.
I’ll be honest with you guys. All this speculation does nothing for you. No one can answer that question definitively and USC won’t even tell you when they will release decisions.
All they’ll say is they are coming soon and that you’ll hear back by May 31st. Spend time with your family and enjoy yourselves. I’m being serious. THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO BUT WAIT.
Don’t torture yourself over something that you cannot change. I can guarantee you all that you will hear back from them in the next few weeks. Setting these deadlines will drive you insane.
Whether they start today or next week, they will be rolling announcements until they finish. What that REALLY means to you is this same exact feeling you have now you will continue to have. IT WILL GET WORSE.
So just stop torturing yourself now. You’ve done everything you could do. Accept that and you’ll be content with whatever happens in these next few weeks.
Best of luck to you all.
I just received an SGR after checking my portal today.
@thechrispytofu what time did you check your portal?
So I checked my FAST portal and it used to say something like “Transfer students will receive their financial aid summaries in early May” and now it changed to “Your financial aid application is currently in review. Please note: We will notify you during the review process if additional documents are required. Financial Aid Summaries for transfer students are usually available three to five business days after all required documents have been received.” This happen to anyone else?
I checked it the same time I posted that comment.
@bean01262020 mine changed to that too! i just checked. i asked my friend who goes to usc and he said it’s a good sign
Based on my FAST portal, mine has been like that for quite some time now. Probably since late February it has stated that for me.
Holy moly. Your admissions and financial aid are completely separate. It means literally nothing that this has changed.
The FAST portal does not mean anything in regards to admissions.
Mine has been like that after they asked me to submit some documents back in February
Last year I received a SGR and was denied with a 4.0 that semester. My financial aid packet said quite literally the same thing yours does. The only thing that matters is the acceptance letter. Until you get that, it’s just fodder.
