2020-2021 USC Transfer

Just to be clear, waves of admits come out every Friday at 5pm? I’ve been ridiculously anxious for the past couple of months.

So should I do P/F or take the C in Calc? @zettasyntax

Does anyone know if people have gotten rejections yet?

Yeah, it’s been really silent this morning… @AE2000 Hopefully that means the decisions will start to released by 4/5PM today.

@californiagirlxo Hmm, personally I would do the pass/fail option if I knew a B was out of the question. This is definitely an unprecedented time and I think USC (and pretty much any college) will have to be understanding about not taking classes for letter grades.

yes. I heard somebody got rejected in early May.

I wonder if most decisions will come out today or next Friday cause in previous years its mostly been next week.

@californiaxo I haven’t asked USC about this, but I reached out to admissions counselors of schools I’ve been accepted to and none of them said that a pass/fail grade would be an issue at all. Most schools seem to be accepting credit for those classes due to the situation.

@californiagirlxo Agree with @zettasyntax - take the pass/fail rather than show a decline. A single pass/fail is not going to have impact at all, where a C shows a decline. Even if both should be “forgiven” in this era, the pass fail will go less noticed than the C.

At this point idc if my major releases today (probably won’t - Viterbi) I’ll be happy to see any acceptances so I know they will be here soon. I don’t want another week of silence.

has anybody biochem-dornsife heard back yet that wasn’t ttp?

Is there typically a set time on Fridays that they release a wave of decisions ?

I’m getting so nervous as we get closer to the 5 PM time

I hope they release a lot today instead of next week cause I’ve seen that most decisions come next week or the week after

Is there a genuine expectation that they would do a large release tonight or just hope?

Hope

I hope so too

At this point, I am not assuming anything. It’s better to just expect to get a response by the 31st rather than getting my hopes up.

Are there sophomore transfers that get accepted without a spring grade request and have below a 4.0?

On USC’s articulation history website, for my school, all of my classes from my transcript are uploaded including the unique classes I took that were not on the website a couple of months ago (including terms like ‘needs syllabus’, ‘needs petition’, etc. next to the classes from my transcript). Has this happened to anyone else?

This is like college admission astrology and I shouldn’t read into it because my hopes may get let down, but I can’t wait any longer, haha
