Yes, good news indeed. I feel bad for students that changed plans out of fear, and aren’t going to the college they planned on for perhaps a long while. I get if financial necessity, but to change just cause of worry over this is understandable but also regrettable I would think. Things could be so different in 4 months, yet over the next 4 years. I can say, USC takes care of it’s own - they let students stay on campus that couldn’t get/go home, they had testing available to students and faculty super early, and their communication through this has been amazing. I am confident it will be one of the best places to be as we ride this thing out to a vaccine.
@CADREAMIN I honestly think that we’ll be in good shape by September in terms of COVID and all.
Me too! :)
I honestly think theres going to be a second wave but hopefully we’re prepared for it
The USC and Stanford study revealed a lot - it has been in CA a lot longer than they thought and hundreds of thousands have already had it and now have immunities. Amazing how the good news gets covered up by bad news so quickly! It’s not going away anytime soon, but students will likely have a solid fall semester.
@“Prash Patil” I believe there are 4 of us who are Junior transfers into Marshall.
Yes, I completed both Econ courses and Financial Accounting by the end of the 2019 Fall semester. I am currently taking Managerial Accounting this semester but they didn’t ask for that grade. I know its not a prerequisite, just a course they suggest you knock out before you transfer if possible
@seabee91 are all of the Viterbi admits CS majors? Ive only seen admits into cs but none for engineering so far
@CADREAMIN I believe that too because I remember being really sick like towards end of December. I thought it was just a severe cold but now I’m starting to think it was the coronavirus haha.
@bean01262020 Some are Comp Sci, but there are two, I believe, for Comp Engineering and Mechanical Engineering!
@seabee91 I’m taking financial this semester but do you think the fact that I haven’t taken Managerial Or Econ yet hurt my chances?
@“Prash Patil” Not at all. As long as you have completed the math and English requirements, you should be fine. If USC were to judge you based on not taking those classes then they would make them mandatory prerequisites.
Someone mentioned earlier about the holistic approach that USC takes. We’ve all heard it right? I honestly wasn’t sure about it until I got my acceptance, they really do look at the whole individual. I am not a traditional student by any means.
I’m a little bit above their average in terms of gpa, but I truly believe my essays are a big reason why I was accepted.
Have any narrative studies majors been accepted yet?
Is there a maximum number of credits that we can transfer?
Did anyone here that is applying from a UC get an SGR?
I know a decent amount of TTPs who studied abroad were already accepted and others got sgrs. My cc’s spring semester ends really late and everyone I know with ttp at my cc got sgrs. A good source told me 99% of transfers this year got sgrs, which I find a little hard to believe. I perceive it as alot more transfers this year than past years’ got sgrs.
i wish decisions would just be out already t-t
@dood523 I am applying from a UC and only received a WGR so far. Honestly questioning if a reject would be better for my mental health than an SGR at this point lmao, the waiting is already taking a toll; wouldn’t want to wait until July for a non-guaranteed result smh
Hope a wave come out today!
Is it going to hurt my chances of acceptance if I do Pass/Fail on one of my “major requirements” ? I’m not doing very well and I am expecting a C. For my major , Calc 3 is optional at USC, it can be replaced with stats but my University doesn’t have a math course that is equivalent to USC’s stat course so I had no choice other than taking Calc 3 this semester. I already have over 64 units. I also haven’t been SGR’d as well (Dornslife-Chemistry).
@UCIfirstchoice 64 is the max. I had about 100 units that then reduced to 84 USC transferable units before then getting capped at 64. You must complete 64 units at USC.
