Does anyone know when checklists usually disappear?
Hi! I’m a current senior in HS. I’m going to uci this upcoming fall but I want to keep the option of transferring to usc open, and I’m also doing ttp (the appointments hasn’t come out yet). So I have several questions: 1) usc wants 2/8 GE to be completed at usc, which ones should i do at usc and which ones at Uci to make myself the most competitive. 2) I will be completing the Writ 130 writing requirement during this upcoming summer at my local CC, does it look bad because I won’t be doing it with my other classes at Uci? 3) I did statistics at my local CC junior year of HS, and this also happens to be the math requirement for my major, will usc accept it? 4) in general what should I prioritize, GE or Major Req? (P.S. I’ll be a freshmen transfer, after one year of Uci). Thank u guys in advance and I wish u all good luck cuz who knows I’m most likely going to be in the same position exactly in one year.
@jjkiiii There are about 80 of us on the Official USC 2020-2021 Transfer Admits facebook group and only a handful got WGR and the rest of us were not handed either before getting accepted. (Based off the other admitted students I’ve asked)
@seabee91 wait so people have already gotten acceptance letters for Fall 2020?
@seabee91 First of all, congrats! Second, when did u get a response? Do you mind me asking what you applied as (Year and major)?
@ketchup23 Yes. I was accepted on April 20th. A few others were as well from this thread. A couple were accepted the week before I heard back as well. Then as I said, there are about 80 of us in the facebook group that was linked in my portal after accepting admission.
@oliviavallone Thank you, I heard back on April 20th at 5:15 pm PST. I applied to Marshall as a Junior transfer from a California community college (non-TTP).
@seabee91 Congrats! Also, were there any film applicants that were admitted?
@seabee91 Congrats! Have you posted your stats on the other thread yet?
@seabee91 wow they linked an official facebook group? Never heard of that one before, that’s kinda cool ngl
@Dudu123456 Negative, have not seen any SCA students in that group yet. I’ve seen some Marshall, Thornton, Price, Viterbi, Dornsife, and School of Dramatic Arts.
@“Prash Patil” Thank you! Yes, I posted my stats on the Transfer Decision Stats thread. I know there are a few other acceptances that posted on there as well.
@seabee91 Thanks for the info!
Sorry but can someone please explain what does WGR mean?
@CADREAMIN Is it still possible to get a SGR at this point for marshall if you haven’t already? Or is it more likely to be a final decison
@seabee91 Of course! Out of the 80 admits on that group do you know about how many are junior Marshall transfers by any chance?
@bean01262020 Yes! It was linked on my portal after I accepted admission. The main admin is the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission and the other is the Associate Director. Yeah its pretty cool! People are introducing themselves and sharing their stories!
@seabee91 Also, did you do the optional Accounting and Econ courses too? Sorry for all the questions!
@WCWSM52 I’m currently at a CC in SoCal.
@“Prash Patil” I’m finishing the calc requirement this semester so I’m pretty sure thats why I got an SGR.
Good stuff in lengthy email just sent out…
We will be fully operational Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, offering our full roster of courses and degrees, as we have been and will be doing this summer. We also will be welcoming our incoming classes. We are exploring a range of scenarios, with significant public health provisions, that will allow us to offer our courses in person, while also ensuring most, if not all classes will be available, in parallel, online.
The first phase in re-opening campus activities over the summer includes establishing strict physical distancing protocols for a ramp-up of on-campus research and clinical education. Longer term, we are planning for a full return to campus operations when it is safe to do so, including all academic programs, athletics, and large-scale gatherings. Most importantly, our commitment to providing an exceptional education, in and out of the classroom, is unchanged.
As we have persevered this semester and stayed in close contact from across the globe, we continue to be moved and energized by the overwhelming support and the creative ideas we have received. Our entire leadership team thanks you sincerely for your input, your resilience, and your care for yourselves and for your communities. We very much look forward to seeing you back on campus – eager to work and prepared to be safe.
We know that you are anxious for answers and we are asking our Project Restart groups to work quickly. We hope to announce much of what our Fall 2020 semester will look like in June.
@CADREAMIN good stuff in that email. Hoping for the best, regardless of an admit or rejection.
@erina19 I’m taking managerial accounting right now and I’m taking 14 units this semester
