Welcome USC Trojan transfer hopefuls! This is a new thread for those who turned in their app by Feb 2025 in order to commit (fingers crossed!) to USC for fall 2025 or Spring 2026. Decisions should be rolling out anytime now thru June and sometimes even into July, ugh.
Transferring is such a long process at USC and posters can really get to know each other - this thread tends to be very supportive - it’s collaborative like USC! Past successful transfers often chime in to share what they experienced. It’s exciting to see so many successful in their quest to transfer! We have seen friendships and future room mates formed on this thread.
I would suggest reading through past threads for some good info. You can search 2024-2025 USC Transfer - 2023 -2024 USC Transfer, or earlier years as well, we use the same naming format each year so they are easy to find.
USC has a ton of great info on the transfer process on the website, please get familiar with it and all of the links it provides.
How to Apply and Everything else you need to know
The USC website is amazing for transfer info and has everything you need to know - including a worksheet that tells you which pre-reqs are required for your major. Follow those requirements and keep up the grades.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to your assigned admissions advisor with questions that can’t be found online; establishing a relationship with them can be a good thing.
Hey all, if you are (or know) transfer applicants, please feel free to join the USC Transfer Discord for this cycle, much like the ones from the last couple years.
I received 4506-c form request from Veri Tax about two weeks ago, so I already submitted it. Then, I got parents’ 2023 W-2 forms request today from USC financial aid office.
Can I consider this is good sign?
With the spring semester wrapping up, does anyone know the protocol for proactively submitting spring grades? My son doesn’t see an option on the portal for spring grade upload.
I don’t believe USC requires spring grades unless they send a request for them. It sounds like they either make the decision based on fall grades or they will send a request in the portal for spring grades
Yes, they want spring grades! Not sending them can delay decisions. There are a some/few that get in off of their fall grades (those straight A high school types that continue that trend in college, so they can see the path they are on), but for others, spring grades can be very important.
There are also prerequisites that need to be met and they want to see grades in those specifically, so send them in!
I thought that was the case, but the portal doesn’t show spring grades or college transcript as a type of file that can be submitted. So not sure where/how to submit them once available.
The option to submit unofficial spring grades does not come out in the portal until a week or so before decisions based on the last cycle, people who receive an SGR will need to submit that way anyway so it should not matter until you receive an initial result.
That said, per CADREAMIN’s point, once it is available, you may as well submit them asap.
As freshman applicant, my Fall Semester GPA is 3.93,and Spring semester GPA is 3.69, so total GPA is 3.8. Do you guys think if it is good way to upload unofficial SGR? My applied college is Dornsife.
Curious if those who have been a part of this process in the past have an opinion on how first year USC appeals are trending right now. Anecdotally from reddit it seems a larger number of appeals are being granted this year. Would this have any bearing on the number of transfers accepted?
USC transfer acceptance received today (5/23) for Marshall. However, it was for Spring semester. Any thoughts on the disadvantages of starting at USC sophomore second semester? Any chance to appeal/ask for movement to fall semster?
