I kinda wanna call and ask but I feel like they won’t give me a real answer
I don’t think it will be tomorrow! Based on last years thread, Stanford Admissions website was updated to reflect the release date (it updated from May 15th to May 8th). Seeing as there haven’t been any updates and the website still reads May 15th for transfer decisions release, I’m betting it will be next week!
I sent an email and the reply was:
“Decisions for transfer applicants will be released on May 15. Please check our website, https://admission.stanford.edu/ for announcements, in case we are able to release them earlier.”
@havingfunismy You’re such a lamb. Thank you.
I sent them a message on Instagram and they said “By May 15th.” They also said that we’ll receive an email with the exact day and time.
I better get an email tomorrow morning that just says the word “TONIGHT”
I heard they typically send that email saying “on May 15th” just to avoid anymore questions. It will be before that… in 2015 when Wednesday was the 6th they released on Friday… not sure if they’ll do that this year too but for now that’s my bet
I would assume it’s slightly delayed because of the whole virtual shift too.
It may not be delayed considering that Columbia is releasing decisions this Friday (a week early), and Princeton and UChicago are releasing them tomorrow.
@snakejyder I feel you ?
@dunnowheretogo I agree with that point, I think we can expect them to be released on Friday.
It’s just past midnight in Palo Alto time and still no update on the website ? I guess it’s more waiting for us fam
With Stanford increasing the number of acceptances this year to ~75 people, do you guys have a guess of how many acceptances would be for those who are not veterans/non-traditional students (aka students from four-year/cc colleges)? Also the breakdown of rising second-year vs. third-year students?
@hsc927 almost impossible to speculate on that given that they’ve never done this before AND with coronavirus… it’s just a weird year so I guess we’ll see what happens
@hsc927 I believe there will be many more traditional students accepted from 4-year schools. The admissions committee likely sees an opportunity to accept the types of transfer candidates they don’t normally get to admit because of limited spots. 75 spots gives them a chance to create a more diverse transfer class. But, as @dunnowheretogo said, coronavirus adds an new variable which makes it hard to speculate further.
@hsc927 I do not believe there is such a thing as the “traditional” Stanford transfer. We are all a very eclectic bunch. Yes, about one third of the cohorts have been veterans, but there is no one size fits all approach to who a Stanford transfer is other than this: they are positive people who are not deterred from their goals, no matter how big their barriers are.
And honestly, I believe the people who have that will be great successes, regardless of if they are accepted into Stanford. However, I know being given this opportunity has made a huge impression on my life and I am grateful for it in every way. I wish you luck!
anyone else from a community college? or is it just me?
@angeldiaz me ? Berkeley City College. Good luck!
If they’re going to release them on Friday, we should get an email today or at the latest tomorrow morning.
