I would assume a good amount of emphasis is placed on essays. Although I’ve always believed that most tier 1 schools care about grades over and above everything.
I really hope they put emphasis on essays, I worked SO HARD on them!
Stanford essays were definitely my favorite and most thought provoking. Ironic since I seriously never let myself consider acceptance as a possibility and its not a “dream school” for me. But if more emphasis is placed on essays then maaaaaaybe I have a 4% chance instead of 1-2 lol

I just want to remind everyone that our value is not measured by getting in to prestigious schools, and that we all will end up where we’re supposed to be. If it helps ease your mind, Stanford will be accepting a lot more transfers this year than they normally do (around 75, compared to the average of 25), so keep your heads up guys!
That’s true. Getting into top universities is like a raffle. Sure, if you have a great application you get more tickets. But, at the end of the day, it’s a lottery.
