2020 Fall Transfer Stanford

Not permanent as in they will only accept more transfer this year then go back to the original amount of they usually accept transfers next year?

Your school was able to hold? What do you mean by this?

@axxj12 You mean the submission email with information to set up your portal? If so, mine came within 24 hours. Application was submitted end of February.

Check your junk or spam mail. They sent mine in the next day.

sorry for the confusion @ryancorddavid . So Stanford said they will not be permanently changing to the increased number of accepted transfers. This year is a one-time thing basically.

And my community college was able to get Stanford Undergraduate Admissions to do a transfer webinar for us.

@kb199977 You’re good! I understood you but I was just trying to clarify. Good luck!

@ryancorddavid thank you, you too!

I believe they have started looking at transfer applications starting yesterday. I turned in a culinary portfolio on a website and it’s showing that some admission officers were looking into the website that I sent in.

Regardless, I wish the best of luck to everyone and hope that everyone gets into places they dreamed of going!!
And no matter what, don’t give up

Hello fellow transfer prospects,

How are people sending their digital transcripts to Stanford? The mailing option is unavailable for my school due to Coronavirus.

My CC offers electronic delivery so it was easier for me to order one from them. I just put down credentials@stanford.edu as a recipient.

@MaxNoah im not sure about your school, but my school portal allows me to download my unofficial transcript. If you can, download your unofficial transcript and save it as like a pdf and send it to Stanford undergrad admissions’ email. Tell them about the whole school closures and they’ll probably accept your unofficial transcript for now and request an official one if you’re admitted.

Hi all, I emailed them and they said that they are fine with unofficial transcripts sent via email to credentials@stanford.edu as long as they match up with what you put on your application. They also posted this on the portal recently. To quote the Hunger Games, “May the Odds Ever Be in Your Favor.”

Hey all! I’m the person who started this thread; just wanted to update and say that I didnt end up applying (staying at Berkeley!). so excited to read all of your comments and watch you get accepted! sending you all good vibes

How weird/unexpected is the fact that last year’s transfer thread had nearly 350 replies while this year, it’s only about 50? Are fewer people applying overall or did this specific thread just not gain enough traction?

@EventualPhD it seems like a lot of the threads I saw for other colleges, including this, are pretty quiet this year compared to the ones from last year and years past. I wonder wjy

@EventualPhD @signpainter It’s really weird. USC’s is the same – they had almost 355 last year and they’re only at 12 pages right now. You’d think it would be more considering everyone is inside

From last year’s thread, the amount of reply is about 60 dating today a year ago. It eventually grew to 300+ replies. It didn’t pick up until late and I expect the same for this thread.

3/21/2018 - 60 replies
3/21/2017 - 25 replies which is a lot less

This is my humble opinion but I think a lot of people, especially older transfers, are dealing with quite a bit and not particularly concerned with CC. For example, fiance was at Target when the doors opened at 8. Needed 3 items - potatoes, bacon and paper towels. Line was around the store and by the time he entered there were 0 paper towels on the shelf. My job has shut down and by the time unemployment issues a check for a fraction of what I actually make rent will be past due. Thankfully, I have some savings but many don’t. So yeah…crazy times at the moment. Stay safe

When I meant a year ago in my original comment, I meant 2018. Sorry for the confusion.

@SatanFlower69 I totally get that. I’m 32 and have so much anxiety about my small business and all the financial uncertainty. Though for me, I think since the lockdown in California, I have been kind of checking this more often than before the lockdown  All my job projects have been postponed/cancelled until further notice so now I’m just here at home checking CC and the admissions portals more often (knowing damn well the status on the portal isn’t going to change haha). This is going to be a long wait…
