I agree with @SatanFlower69, I think a lot of us are going through an unprecedented situation. Even the schools themselves! It will be interesting to see how much this crisis is going to change the timelines for transfer decisions (if at all). Hopefully not very much! It will definitely make it more difficult to decide where to go, considering that we will more than likely not be able to visit, tour, or attend any form of admitted students day. At the end of the day, we’re all in this together!
Idk about y’all, but I miss school
@kb199977 im with you there. This online learning is no fun
Hey I know it’s super late lol but just wanted to post my stats while waiting …
Current Institution: a university in Korea

High school GPA: my school didn’t have “GPA” (Australia) and just shows the scores. They were around 97%+
I applied to Symbolic Systems
I am currently a Technology Management major and my essay was about how I wanted to be a “fuzzy” and a “techie” at the same time (really interested in natural language processing and data science)

Cooking Club ( I am the president)
Student Council (I was the president)

Personally, I think my essays are ‘meh’ which may be a problem
I’m curious though
1. Are 76 credits too much for Stanford to consider me as an applicant?
2. How competitive is the Symbolic Systems major?
Does anyone know what day Stanford will release their decisions? are you signing leases at your current institutions?
Judging from the past threads, decisions are released by the first week of May. However, they usually announce it on the portal about a week out.
Hey, did any one receive an email from Stanford today stating “Confirmation of Financial Aid Status?”
I did this morning and was wondering if it might suggest something…
@malkovsky Didn’t get it.
My guess is that it means very little lol, but you should be able to judge from the content of the email whether or not it means anything.
@malkovsky I received one of those as well. They just want to make sure applicants understand that if they don’t apply for financial aid now, they won’t be able to change their decision later
Did anyone who qualifies as a domestic applicant receive one?
Could everyone who has received this letter state whether they are considered domestic or international for financial aid purposes? I suspect (hope!) that letter was only sent to students classified as international applicants.
I am domestic, applied for financial aid and completed my financial aid app earlier in the month; did not receive one.
I’m international; received one; yeah, it probably means very little because the letter ends with “we look forward to reviewing your application.”
Does anyone know whether Stanford send out likely letters for transfers?
Hey, do any of you still have Xs next to certain items on your portal? Some of my items were sent weeks ago but still don’t show checkmarks.
@EventualPhD if any of your documents arrived/will arrive at Montag Hall after March 13 (Friday) they will not be added to your application. You’ll have to send digital copies to credentials@stanford.edu
I feel like the ones who received that email haven’t applied for financial aid. I applied for financial aid and did not get one.
All of my documents were sent digitally, so that shouldn’t be an issue.
Given the fact that they are admitting more transfers this year, will the number of traditional students accepted probably increase?
@dunnowheretogo Where have you learned that they’re admitting more transfers this year?
