@dunnowheretogo Hard to say for sure but based on the past few years, either the 6th or the 13th around 5pm.
That’s a TERRIBLE cliffhanger haha
Stanford has said that they will be releasing decisions by May 15th and that they expect their acceptance rate to hover between 2 and 5% according to some in the admissions office. I hope this helps!
@brightplaces so now that’s two people confirming the possibility for a slightly higher acceptance rate!
i had a bizarre dream 3 days ago that I showed up to class in the the fall only to be told by admissions officers that I had been “admitted by mistake” and had to leave campus immediately. Then I woke up… What a nightmare! hahahah
@brightplaces thank you so much for the intel! If you don’t mind telling us, did you find it out directly from the AO through emailing them?
@duola According to contacts of mine who transferred to Stanford a couple of years ago, you can potentially transfer up to 90 quarter units to your bachelor’s degree (180 units). The 45-unit limit refers to AP credit from high school.
Stanford does not accept all transfer credit though; there’s a “transfer credit database” that shows which courses from which institutions will be accepted and under which conditions. (e.g. a 5-unit calculus course might count for 3 units only)
hope this helps.
Is anybody else here a freshman applicant?
I am a current freshman
@hsc927, I have family affiliated with the university. They know someone who works there that told them the projected date and data. Lol, I am too anxious to email a rep asking them that. I hope that helps!
Also, I applied as to enter as a sophomore.
Also, I didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up. The admissions offices tend to factor in variability and stuff. So the range is just based on around what they accept normally over the years…sorry. I guess let’s hope it’s on the high side.
I also had a dream about Stanford last night lol. I clicked on “Status Update” and it said I got in, and it said on my admission letter that they wanted to share my application as an example on their website. Now that I know how happy I felt getting in, I’m feeling even more anxious for decisions to come out.
I really hope the 2-3x increase in the number of admitted students allows Stanford to make their final decisions faster (they don’t have to choose between A and B — they can just take in both!)
Hey everyone…it’s MAY!!

Hi, just wondering what were the stats you submitted to Chapel Hill? I am applying in fall 2020 and just want to get an idea of my odds.
@Amatheras Thank you for your messages about transfer credit units.
Hey everybody^^
I just updated my common app with two achievements. Do you think Stanford will see them or should I write them?
Please let me know what you think, this is really bothering me…
@DriFit it’s very late in the game, and they probably have a good portion of their decisions already finalized. However, you can still write to them and perhaps they’ll look at them; there’s nothing to lose if you do.
@DriFit Stanford only sees the info included on the Common App when you submit it. Any changes you want to share have to be done through the application portal; however it probably is late in the timeline for any changes to help their decision.
