2020 Stocking Stuffers

Our stockings hang in a hallway as part of the Christmas decor, but after the kids went to bed, when putting out the gifts we would fill their stockings and place them near their beds. They would wake up Christmas morning and gather in one of their bedrooms and open their stockings together. That way, my wife and I could get a few extra precious minutes of sleep!

I think See’s candy still has chocolate coins during The holidays.

Our stockings hold only cards and candy, but some of those candies are alcohol-infused, and son’s cards usually enrich his bank account.

COAL for the idiots refusing to wear masks

Socks, yes! D2 is fixated on the cheap ones with no cuffs. The drug store bargains, often with seasonal designs, I include those and she’s always happy. It’s a little thing between us. D1 is a chapstick freak. Easy to include some upscale version.

Same with the tea towels. I got D1 and fiance cat towels before, like the link someone gave to the odd ones.

I don’t know exactly how I’d do this, but maybe a Masterpiece Theater subscription through whatever it is, Netflix or Amazon Prime.

When I saw this thread, Ithought, gads, no, too early. But it’s so interesting, this time around. Thanks.

I bought a couple of those silicone cookie sheet liners at Aldi today for $3.99. They would be nice for a stocking

^^If they work well that’s a deal!

I’m sure my kids (and others) will get masks, some bowl cozies (like a pot holder, bowl shaped) and anything else I can sew. One might get the second book about climbing the 14ers in Colorado. It’s a long skinny book with maps of the climbs so perfect shape for the stocking.

D’s boyfriend is actually getting the Christmas stocking. I’ve made them for 35+ years for all the kids and now we’re moving on to the boyfriends and husbands. I’ve been a little slow lately and I’m not sure I’ll make the Christmas eve deadline, but I’ll try.

I love Beekman1802 goat milk soaps. I will probably get them each a ā€œlimited editionā€ Rose Apothecary soap https://beekman1802.com/collections/goat-milk-bar-soaps/products/rose-apothecary-goat-milk-soap and a lump of coal soap. https://beekman1802.com/collections/goat-milk-bar-soaps/products/lump-of-kohl (they also have a lump of gold).

One year for stockings we had fun getting our grown kids kitchen items from Sur-La-Table (potato peeler, little spatula, meat thermometer… let them trade)

If you have a D, reusable make up remover cloths, bamboo utensils

The Chili Crisp is addictive, as is TJ’s Italian Bomba Sauce (very spicy). Sooo good.

The stashed bags are on Amazon prime day. I’m going to order a few.
@taverngirl reusable makeup removal cloth sounds like a good idea. I have girls plus a DIL. Any specific suggestions?
I’m going to look for the chili crisp at TJ.
I do feel silly shopping for stocking stuffers in October!

We have also gotten Penzeys spices for stocking stuffers. Those teeny containers are the perfect size.

Agree that the chili crisp is addictive.
I first tasted this at one of our favorite restaurants and the server brought the bottle to the table so I could take a picture. Walmart has it for a lower price than Amazon. The link is for the big bottle but I think some neighborhood Walmart stores carry smaller sized bottles too.

I will have to make a trip to TJ to look for their chili sauce. I spice up my salad with the spicy sauces so they don’t last too long.

One of my kids likes to cook Thai curries, so I plan to have these in the stocking this year. Perfectly sized for it.

Will also be doing the 5 in 1 wine corker/aerator and Darn tough socks for the stockings this year.

@AnAsmom I haven’t tried the curry paste you posted because we are huge fans of the Mae Ploy curry paste that we get off Amazon. Different Thai curries are a staple at our house since I can get H to eat lots of veggies when I make them!

I bought something like this (https://www.amazon.com/MP-Mozzpak-Reusable-Eco-friendly-Cleansing/dp/B07WXL65BT/ref=sr_1_5?crid=283BE8VKJSEP8&dchild=1&keywords=reusable+makeup+remover+pads+30+pack&qid=1602614901&sprefix=reusable+make+up+remove%2Caps%2C167&sr=8-50)

They’re actually pads not cloths. My D sometimes uses cloths, but these are easier because she doesn’t have to wash after each use, just grabs another one and then throws a bagful in the laundry when she starts getting low.

We like the LOVE bags amazon.com/Reusable-Recycled-Shopping-BLANKET-Stripes/dp/B07CTDLLWX

@abasket I ordered the non-touch door opener/button pushers.
@mom60 I also ordered stasher bags and beeswax wraps for both D’s.

D1’s friend is starting a zero waste company here in San Diego so we have all been trying to use more earth friendly products.

I love World Market for stocking stuffers!
