2020 Stocking Stuffers

@4kids4us The one and only place I can ever find Fluff out in California is Cost Plus World Market. Not sure if that will help you or not, but it does remind me to get over there and pick some up.

My girls loved Fluffernutters. It’s always been in stores here. I’ll have to look.

My mother served the brown bread with cream cheese. Don’t remember if toasted.

@loveorangecats we don’t have Cost Plus where I live (Maryland). Some grocery store chains here carry it but not every store in a particular chain will have it. Normally I would just go around to various stores until I find it, but with the pandemic, I don’t want to have to do that. Hopefully I’ll get lucky.

@lookingforward I can usually find it, but it is not always in stock. I just don’t want to have to “shop around” so hopefully if I will be able to get it easily.

I am also from Mass. We had the brown bread but I was super picky and never tried it. If any of you live super sweet desserts try the fudge recipe on the Fluff jar - my mom made it every holiday and the adults usually avoided it but the kids loved it!

I got two stocking stuffers for my D21 who will be heading to college next year - a set of the LED light strips the kids all love and one of the extension cords with the big cube shaped block on the end, my D19 likes that one because it’s heavy and stays put even when she unplugs something.

I got these one on Prime day. Not sure if the lights will be good quality but you can find them everywhere now, I even say them in Home Depot this week.

My husband loves the show Yellowstone so I went on Etsy and got him a Y sticker (he puts stickers on everything, mugs, car, surfboard) and a Dutton Ranch hat.

I love B & M brown bread with raisins, warmed with lots of good butter. Haven’t had it in awhile so just put it on my shopping list!

Fluff in hot chocolate is the best!! I grew up eating fluffernutters and never knew they were a regional thing until I moved out of New England.

I hate peppermint but love wintergreen. I always got wintergreen candy canes from the Granite State Candy Shoppe in my stocking. I just checked and they still make them. Sent the link to DH so perhaps I’ll get one this year

D20 usually gets a jar of Nutella in her stocking that is just for her. Usually she has to share!

Fluff is apparently now made in Lynn, MA, so I hesitated. But I think you all have convinced me. Btw, It’s supposedly available in Walmart, etc, much cheaper than Amazon.

We have a tradition of some sort of new pajama bottoms on Christmas Eve. I guess now the hunt begins for something with moose on them. Maybe.

“Fluff is apparently now made in Lynn, MA”

I think it always was. I remember driving by the factory when I was little. My grandparents lived very nearby, but I was about 5 so could be confusing the distance.

My brothers used to eat Fluff with jelly on Wonderbread. Sugar sandwich.

When driving on I-295 through Portland, ME, you can see the signage on the B & M factory. What we remember about the brown bread is that the bread had rings around it from the can. We thought it was cool if one got a slice of the bread with a ring on it!

Vermont Country Store also has date nut bread. Used to come in a can. Oh, man.

Their description-
“Date nut bread is one of our most requested baked goods. It’s comfort food that most people remember coming in a can! “Canning” the bread (it was baked in the can) ensured a moist and tender loaf that could be enjoyed just about anywhere, anytime. Ours is just as delicious and still packed with lots of chopped dates and walnuts—so many, that every bite is filled with sweet, nutty flavor. Perfect for breakfast, teatime, or as a snack.”

Supposedly, original recipe, just not under the original label.

I ate a Fluffernutter sandwich over the weekend. I won’t drink hot chocolate without a melted 1/4" layer of Fluff floating on top.

We drove our kids to music camp in Sidney Maine for six years. Past that B and M baked bean factory. We always hoped they were cooking because when they were, it smelled sooooo good!

I came for stocking stuffer ideas but got some memories! I grew up in NJ but my Mom was from near Boston and on Sunday evenings when she didn’t feel like cooking we would have brown bread from a can and baked beans. Also around my pre-teen years every day in the summer I would make my lunch - a fluffernutter sandwich, a dill pickle, an orange and a big glass of orange juice. I haven’t had a fluffernutter sandwich in years. My kids were Nutella fans instead.

@“one+two” your summer lunch sounds like a comedy show pregnant woman’s dream.

Calamity Ware makes a bunch of things - the best stocking stuffer / little present for when you need one is their ornaments- I bought the full set last year, and re-wrapped them individually. Super!

@collegemom3717, you sent me running back to the CalamityWare website to check out the ornaments, I don’t think they had those the last time I looked. I previously ordered a set of plates for my husband and a pack of cards and a puzzle for my daughter - the pack of cards will go in the stocking. Now I’m debating whether my son would ever wear the dinosaur tie. Such a fun company!

I’ll throw in my vote for a stocking stuffer bandeau.

There are two sizes - half and full. I use the half for my short curly hair and they can be configured for a in-a-pinch mask.

The full would be great in the cooler weather - can still be used as a hefty headband but also as a neck gaiter and then easily pulled up - again for a impromptu mask. Especially good and easy for walking outside where you occasionally want to “cover up” but not all the time.

My girls walk a lot so they are each getting a full in their stocking. I noticed that they have some new ones that are half fabric, half fleece.

These are very, very versatile and VERY comfortable. I have a few that I have worn all summer/fall and they do not loose their shape (so far). I wash mine out by hand and then just hang to dry overnight.

@helpingmom40 I love Granite State Candy Shoppe! We loved getting treats from there as kids.

I’m another who grew up on Fluffernutter sandwiches and Fluff in hot chocolate after playing for hours in the snow. It was a staple in our house.

Loving all the ideas in this thread. The only stocking stuffers I’ve bought so far have been a few new lightening cables to charge the kids’ phones and some Rick and Morty crew socks for S21.

Not sure if this has been mentioned - Defogger for the glasses & breath mints will be a biggie this year! Nothing worse than ‘mask fog’, that and ‘mask breath’!
