Got rejected with a 4.0(48 credits) for Marshall. Heartbreaking
You got another option?

Rejected from Annenberg with 4.0
I felt like my dream is completely shattered
I got an SGR back in late April and submitted it on May 12th. SGR disappeared on Wednesday. AO said I should hear back by the 31st, AO on phone said SGR disappearing means I have a decision coming soon. But I didnāt hear anything today. Is this ok? @CADREAMIN

Re Appeals:
You have all likely googled this, but here is the official word from USC:
Transfer Applicants
USC does not have a formal appeal process for transfer applicants. If you wish to appeal our decision, please email your Admission Counselor a statement as to why you believe your application should be reconsidered. If you have recent grades we did not consider in our initial review, you should include those as well.
We cannot guarantee or estimate when you will receive a response to your appeal. Please understand that the chances of appeals being granted are very slim.
Again, they donāt even have a process for transfer appeals like they do for regular admission cycle. What this is saying is they may get around to looking at your appeal but arenāt committing IF or WHEN they will evaluate it and get back to you. The will likely review it, but you may not hear anything for months. Or if AO is nice, they would go ahead and say āno chanceā instead of having you wait and wait - again. Transfer appeals only occur in very dramatic situations. There would have to be very compelling and NEW information. Good grades posted after this decision wonāt fly on their own, they already rejected plenty of 4.0s and you would have got an SGR is still in the running. So you would have to have stand out awards or personal circumstances you overcame - things like that - that were not included in original application.
I would not tell anyone not to appeal, give it all youāve got, if it is healthy to do so. But go in realistically, do not let this hold you hostage all summer as chances are super low. I think in 10 years I recall 1 transfer getting in on appealā¦there are years none get in. But we donāt get much of that on here as most have moved on, so maybe there is a good number some years. They are so dang impacted this year with 2020 and 2021 students pushing in, and they really waiting on your decisions so there is more certainty in their numbers. I donāt see a need for them to fill spots, so you would need a dramatic story/reason to justify the change.
But heck, maybe more will commit elsewhere and there is a squeak of room, so give it a go if you feel strongly about it. No pain no gain as they say.
If you have a good plan B, take it, no question. Sometimes it can be better to grab on to āif they donāt want me, I donāt want themā kind of attitude to get through it. Easier said than done, I get that. Itās utterly disappointing, but there is just so much space.
Got SGRād on 5/3 and submitted on 5/21. Iāve heard 2-3 weeks is the average wait time after submitting SGR
