2023 Gardening Thread

Those look so good!! I don’t eat raw tomatoes when they aren’t in season, and I’m really missing them. Going to this site and ordering some heirloom seeds!!

How big is your garden (dimensions)?

Well, it’s not a complete square or anything - there’s an area for herbs and perennials that stretches about 15x40. But the main veg garden is 50x70 feet, give or take.
OH, I completely forgot that I also have six 4x8 beds in a community garden. That’s where I plant our garlic every fall, and then I plant all the root vegs there in late July, once I’ve pulled the garlic.

Buying this tomato again! I bought it for the catchy (and local  ) name not hoping much, but it turned out to be very tasty.

I am envious! I have a 8x40 foot plot for my vegetables, with a small 3x6 foot raised bed for herbs. The space in my yard that gets adequate sunshine is limited.

I’m envious, too! We have a lot of land, but it all wetlands. So our giant deck is my garden space, thus I have to pick crops with the biggest NPV to maximize my garden returns. No cabbages or broccoli, unfortunately.

We had very little that wasn’t shady but we cut down six trees in spring 2020. Figured it made sense to expand the garden if the apocalypse was coming.
(We have six acres in the woods and own the two adjacent lots: plenty of trees still there!)

What do you vote for? Should we start a new gardening thread for 2024 or just alter the title of this one to include 2024??

I vote for a new 2024 gardening thread.
